Last night was the second time my partner and I visited the Acorn, and it was just as amazing as the first. The food, is divine, service is top-notch and the atmosphere is both quaint and intimate. I adore French-style cooking with all the love and beautiful ingredients that are put into each dish, and here, they do it all well. Money is always very tight for us but, we will keep going back for such a lovely dining experience.

Best I have been to in a very long time. Tempting menu with plenty I would happily have tried but plumped for the veggie risotto – yum – just how risotto ought to be. Husband had the beef bourguignon which of course I had to try too – delish! He loved it. Wine list was good and not overly pricey – plenty of local selections. So, wine & food = great.
But most outstanding was the service – a balance of warmth and professionalism rarely experienced in NZ, sadly (and we travel & dine out A LOT). You have a winner here, team, well done – clearly I am not alone in realising this as the place was packed to capacity, despite being winter and raining. Other restauranteurs would do well to take a leaf from your book. We will be back for sure.

Excellent in every way. My husband and I recently spent our holidays in Coopers Beach, we were told to try the new Acorn Bar & Bistro, we are so happy that we did, it really was excellent in every way. From the time we arrived we felt so welcome, the cuisine was amazing, The French cheese tart was AMAZING!!! The fish – fresh, fresh, fresh. Creme Brule for dessert and wonderful service and atmosphere. We really felt like we could be sitting in Europe, the decor was so pretty. A must try, don’t miss out on this unique little gem in Northland. we will be be back. Jo (Wellington)
