Overview

The good old Sports Bar and Café has had a bit of a facelift and a revamp as of late and is ready to welcome you in. The Alex Bar and Eatery is no longer an ordinary old Sports Bar and Café. Its variety of different spaces including, the courtyard, lounge areas, TAB and private function space, allow a little something for everyone. Its state of the art TAB has lounge chairs complete with their very own cup holders, the dining area has direct access to trackside action on a race night and large spaces to accommodate the crowds. Using the history of the racing industry for the imagery and décor, The Alex incorporates the old with the new in a fresh and friendly environment. The Alex has long been a favourite for a casual drink, coffee or delicious meal. It’s easy to get to with free parking and a relaxed environment; it might even become your local. Open from 8am until late, 7 days a week.

by Mary B. 20th March 2013: I, plus 7 other of work staffs had farewell dinner here…refreshing relaxing atmosphere catered for race course fans plus sports galore on big screens…staffs were friendly n helpful…dinner was roast beef which was cooked perfectly..soft n moist…plus butter chicken n plenty of colourful vegetables n salad bar….dessert was creamed pav with fresh fruit salad n ice dream of 5 flavours at $15 pp…was awesome….would go there again.
by leigh b. 9th October 2012: Went for Dinner, Roast Night $15.00 per head including desert not a bad deal. The meat was Chicken and this was cooked very well. Lots of veg’s and salads along with a sweet and sour pork dish to go along with the chicken. Dessert was Pavlova, Fruit Salad and cream. This a really good meal for 15.00 and the place looks very nice with the re-vamp. The only down side is they have spent money and made the bar and cafe look good but the toilets need an overhaul to match.

Love the location…and everything is nice, clean and modern. Plenty of car park.

Setting: Modern Sports bar with great view of the racecourse.

Customer Service: Not Fantastic.

Food: I do love it.(The pancake is a MUST! to have) Its really tasty and well presented on the plate. Good portion as well.

Price: You looking at an average of $18.00 per person including a coffee. Very reasonably priced.

Capacity: You can have a large number! Lunch finishes at 2pm. Great place for lunch.

I will definitely recommend you to do lunches here….affordable food in a great location.!
