This business is a MenuMania SponsorOne of the Business' Favourite Reviews
Definitely a new favourite. The ambience is really nice, staff super-friendly and our waitress was awesome, knowledgeable about the food, a good sense of humor and attentive without being intrusive. The food itself was fabulous, I had the chicken breast for a main and my partner raved about his perfectly cooked lamb rump. It is a must to visit!

The Attic is such a fantastic place to dine! I celebrated my graduation lunch here on 6th May. It’s important to note that their business officially opens at 4pm but they welcomed my family and I at 2 pm (I emailed to book of course!)! Not only that, they also allowed us to order from their dinner menu. We were treated very well, which made the day even more special. So when it comes to service, you can’t fault them- very hospitable and professional.
The food is also fantastic! Each of us ordered different mains and we all loved it! The pork belly was perfectly cooked as well as the steak and the lamb rump. The risotto was perfect – it wasn’t too creamy and it had generous amount of seafood in it. The ribs were amazing! Their honey creme brulee is one of the best I’ve tried! The triple chocolate mousse was divine. And how can I forget the salt & pepper squid!
Thank you so much for the great experience The Attic! Will definitely be back and I’ve already raved your restaurant to my friends.

The Attic proved to be an amazing venue for a function I helped organise for 80-90 people last night. They were meticulously organised, friendly, professional and genuinely excited to be of assistance. Thanks to all the bar staff and the function manager, Penelope, for helping us put on an awesome event!

After looking through the MenuMania for a restaurant that had good reviews at a decent price I stumbled across The Attic.
I rang and was greeted with a friendly voice who was willing to help me. I explained that I was taking my husband out for our 4yr wedding anniversary and he had no idea. She suggested giving us a nice quiet corner of the restaurant.
Due to traffic I was late getting home and rang to apologise being late, that was no problem, just get here when you can was the response!!
When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady who was either the Maitre D or the owner (not sure) she took care of us the entire evening, and that made us feel special. There was even a big group in but we did not complain as our food arrived in a decent time (normally when there are big groups, us small tables get left behind, but not in this instance)
We started with a shared entree of Grilled Sour Dough, Fig Chutney and a Homemade Herb Feta ~ DELICIOUS!!!
For dinner my husband had the Crispy Thai Beef Salad, I had a sneaky bite ~ oh so good!!
But my favourite part was my dinner House Smoked Salmon, Prawn and Scallop Risotto.
The service was exceptional, the food was divine and we will be going back!!
Thanks to The Attic for making our special day that extra special ~ much appreciated!!

My partner and I for the first time we went to The Attic last night for our first Valentine’s Day it was amazing!! The dishes, the cocktails, the customer service, the staff I’d like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE MANAGER PENELOPE CABRAL to host us and treat us like VIP !! Wow!! Wow!!! Wow!! Muito obrigada!!!! Parabens you are doing good and you treating the staff good too!! I was so impressed!! Thank you so much to made our night was awesome!! Thank you

Simply… WOW!!! We just came back, and I have to give the thumbs up to the team. Top quality meals, the presentation could not get any better, very well presented, and big portions, its worth every penny! I had the sirloin steak and my partner raved about his pork belly! Deliciously good! I had to come here and spread the word out because this guys truly deserve it! Special thanks to the waitress who provided an excellent customer service, very attentive and polite. Keep it up guys!

My hubby and I wanted a simple night out and thought we’d give The Attic a go… what a delight. We seated on the balcony and the location could hardly be better. The staff are friendly, courteous and nothing is a problem. They go the extra mile, and on top of that the food is simply divine. Mini lamb burgers are just too cute to be true!!
All in all a fabulous evening, we couldn’t fault a thing.
Well feed and well looked after, would definitely come back…

We all like to escape, it’s human nature after all. There is something captivating and mysterious about a home away from home. But why can’t we find it right in the heart of a bustling city?
Well now you can! Imagine if you will an ambience that speaks of a thousand stories. A sumptuous array of delectable delicacies and a captivating view that inspires even the quietest of wordsmiths.
Throw in some quite exceptional service and you have the home away from home you have always wanted. Where is it, just east of the city centre in a majestic part of Auckland we like to call Mission Bay.
Come on people, to feel is to find within! It’s easy for someone to picture themselves there but you need to see everything for yourself to be truly mesmerised. I’m speaking on behalf of myself and my fiancé when I say our engagement party just wouldn’t have been the success it was if we had it anywhere other than The Attic.
Nestled above Momma Mia’s, another well-established Auckland icon, The Attic boasts a distinctive wine list for even the most discerning of aficionados and connoisseurs. Not to mention the veritable plethora of other beverage options and of course, the very famous sharing platters, which I’m told, bring people from near and far.
Put all of this aside for a second and think carefully about something that I think is seriously missing from the best bars in our amazing country. Service…….it might be a single word but it means everything to the people it serves both literally and figuratively. I can guarantee you of one thing when you come to The Attic – the service is second-to-none. In fact, I challenge you to find better service and if you do…….make me eat my words!
There is an experience that should be attached to the best memories in life and that is exactly what you will get when you choose to have your next function, work party or catch up with friends at The Attic. But don’t take my word for it……get along there and when you do, ask yourself one question…..do I really want to be anywhere else when I can be in a beautiful home away from home!

We came to the Attic for dinner last Thursday, their new summer menu has something for everyone!! The vegi spring rolls were very tasty and the salt caramel homemade ice cream on the chocolate fondant was to die for. The waiting staff were very helpful and attentive we will be going back very soon to try the rest of the menu as this is now a new favorite place.

Service was really good, food also, couldn’t fault. Particularly impressed by price and location.

We went to the Attic today, and thought it was fabulous !
My partner and I are very much into our food, and eat all over the world. The price of the food is relatively cheap for the more fine dining experience. Not a place for simple pub grub.
We decided to have some lunch time drinks and some starters to nibble on. We enjoyed the bruschetta with blue cheese and figs, salt and pepper squid and buffalo wings. The food was light, and tasty.
Service was AMAZING ! My glass never went empty, and we were fed within minutes. We sat outside and enjoyed the Mission Bay bustle. The kind waiter (american/Canadian guy) was very pleasant, and attended to our every need, he was amazing and made our experience great.

After hearing so many good things about this place, decided to give it a try on Saturday evening with some friends. From the moment you walk upstairs, you feel the stylish decor and the stunning atmosphere with the fireplace and candles that makes it very cozy and charming. The staff is just up to the notch, best service I’ve had in Auckland. We went just for some drinks, but got tempted with few snacks, I tried the mini lamb burgers…. they are so cute and simply delicious!!
What a lovely night with the girls!

I cannot rate this establishment highly enough! My wife & I wanted somewhere to quietly enjoy our anniversary together. The sticking point with us choosing any eating establishment is that there have to be gluten & soy free alternatives on the menu. Although The Attic doesn’t advertise itself as a GF environment, the waiting staff were very knowledgeable about the menu & were happy to check with the chef on the more technical stuff such as ingredients in the sauces etc. OK so we finally ordered! Greek salad for her, confit of rabbit for me as starters. For mains we chose the corn fed chicken breast for her & the fish of the day for me, which happened to be my all time favourite – Blue Cod! Shared a side of steamed baby vegetables! Everything was cooked perfectly, the sauces / dressings were flavoursome but didn’t overpower the meat/fish. Portions were of a good size – neither too generous nor too small. As I hinted at earlier the service could not be faulted. It was a surprising cold night so the fireplace not only added to the ambiance, but made it a cosy evening. That is until we had to leave to get back to the car! Will definitely be back! Thanks to everyone & top marks to the manager & Chef!

Had a birthday here this evening with a set menu. The options looked good and I chose the ’28 day certified aged steak’ as a main… Was ok but nothing special. Not cooked as requested and quite chewy, not worth the $35 + price tag. The veges and sauce were good however. Not the worst meal I have had but could be improved. Nice location and most staff friendly and helpful. Wouldn’t hurry back any time soon.

I have been there several times and it never fails to impress! Very friendly staff and awesome service without being intruding. And the food, oh the food, it’s just amazing! The beef tartare is awesome, an old time classic parisian bistro dish, its hard to find it anywhere else. The location is fantastic, seating outside and enjoying Mission Bay view is priceless, you gotta love it! Can’t wait to be back again… soon!

I went because my granddaughter loves it. The service was excellent, out waiter couldnt have been better. My meal was average, my granddaughters looked better so I guess it depends on what you order.

My most recent experience wasn’t so great. We usually go for dinner but this was one of the few times we had lunch. My partner ordered the open chicken sandwich (we have ordered this several times before). Despite being called a sandwich this came with only one piece of bread on the bottom and nothing on the top. The sandwich looked considerably smaller than it usually is and it had no avocado (which is one of the ingredients listed on the menu).
At first we figured this may just be a modification to their original one, but we sat between two tables and they both ordered the chicken sandwich – and BOTH came with two pieces of bread and was definitely bigger than the one we received! When we asked the waitress about it she said that the other customers MAY have asked for extras on their sandwiches and offered no alternative for us, even though it was blatantly obvious that we had been under-served. She was the only waitress working- how could she not know? Unless she was giving us a bad excuse?
I find this really ridiculous. We have spent a lot of money at this restaurant and their reasoning wasn’t acceptable. I find it too much of a coincidence that two people within minutes of eachother would ask for extra bread- you would think that if you are ordering a sandwich you would get a sandwich. Was just disappointed with the service overall that day.
This happened almost a month ago and we haven’t gone back since. It is our usual Mission Bay dinner spot but I don’t think we’ll be going back.

Don’t usually write these things, but after our experience this weekend we thought we’d give our thanks. My girlfriend and I live in the central city, and wanting a little escape decided to go to Mission Bay for the evening on a Friday night. We haven’t been around the area much except for mussels at the belgian beer cafe on the corner, and not having heard much about the Attic we were a little hesitant. Greeted at the top of the stairs by a very polite waiter (George?) who seated us and took our order. They were very busy with a young (20′s) crowd who were seated in quite a nice little lounge area in the back of the place. We smoke, so we sat outside, and were delighted by the view from the place. I wanted beer (of which they have plenty on tap – great selection of Mac’s) but my girlfriend wanted a cocktail but nothing really took our fancy on the cocktail list, so we asked if the bartender could make something up. Our drinks and food arrived promptly – I work in the hospitality industry, and we were both blown away by the level of quality of cocktail we were presented with, especially for our expectations of Mission Bay being a beer bar suburb. We couldn’t stay long, so weren’t able to sample much from the menu – the rosemary fries and squid were both to an exceptional standard. Before we left, we approached the bar and introduced ourselves to the bartender (Jake) – we asked for another ‘surprise’ and he made us an amazing cherry, chocolatey hazlenut shot for us both that neither of us had had before. When I asked him for the recipe he wrote the ingredients on a piece of paper for me – an astonishing level of service from a suburb-level establishment – let alone one that was busy (I was tempted to ask if he would come and work for me!)
In short, we left very happy, were pleasantly surprised by the service, food, drinks and professional manner of the entire staff. The only fault we could place would be that the outside heaters didn’t seem to be working properly, and the crowds inside were quite loud – small things. We are now very much looking forward to our next trip to Mission Bay, and will definitely be making sure it is the Attic that we visit.
Alfie + Estee.

Hubby and I attended a bday party and it was our first visit to The Attic. I must say that the attention given to us by Penelope and Gregory was outstanding. Great atmosphere and well organized.
Terima Kasih Penelope!

I organised a suprise birthday celebration for my hubby at The Attic and Penelope the events lady was very helpful from the word go. She responded promptly to emails, was very attentive to my requests and took pride in helping make it a wonderful suprise for my husband.
Yesterday on the night of the party, both Penelope and our waiter Georgy delivered excellent customer service and made our guests feel welcomed. The drinks and nibbles flowed throughout the night and the food was delicious. My parents were so impressed that they now want to hold my brother’s upcoming 25th party at The Attic.
Thank you Penelope and crew for a wonderful night.

My partner and I went for dinner today and we simply loved it!! I had the chicken breast and he had the pork belly, it was hard to choose because everything on the menu seems so delicious… Well, can’t say about the rest (not just yet
but the chicken breast and the pork belly were heavenly!!! Beautiful colours on the plate and amazing flavours combined together!!!
The service was spot on, by far the best service I have had when dining out. The waitress who served us was very attentive and polite and the manager came personally check our meals. Great atmosphere, candle light dinner near the fireplace… wooow…. Best Romantic Dinner Ever!!!!
Can’t wait to go back again!!

I’ve been to the Attic several times and can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience. Their formula is pretty simple: Nice location, good food, friendly and efficient service, tasty beer on tap at reasonable prices. These are things most bars should be able to get right, but a lot don’t. The fact that they have the Mac’s range is especially nice – love the Hop Rocker.

Went to the Attic last night for the first time.
We booked a table for 8pm and arrived at 8pm but they were a tad busy so we went to wait in the lobby for 15 minutes. They gave us complementary entree whilst we waited which was a nice touch.
We were seated in the restaurant and ordered the Calamari and the Prawns with Scallops. The presentation was excellent and the taste was exceptional, easily the best I’ve tasted in NZ. Was very happy with the start of the meal.
For the main I ordered the Rack of Lamb and it was fantastic, awesome presentation and sublime taste.
Overall this restaurant was great, would recommend anyone that wants high quality food, good service and a nice atmosphere.

I have been here a few times – for dinner and just drinks.
The location is lovely as is the service.
Recently went for dinner before a movie on a Tuesday night. Was very pleased with the service, the food (the lamb) was fantastic and the movie deal on Tuesdays is awesome.
Will be back….again.

This is where we go if we just want some fantastic food at a good price. Never disappoints, great staff, good atmosphere and awesome cocktails! The manager just really seems to care about her customers. Keep up the good work!

Birthday meal with my husband and three young boys, this venue was top class. From the service, the excellent food and not forgetting going the extra mile for my son in providing a kids burger without the sesame (one of his allergies). The bill was also a pleasant surprise! We intend to make it our monthly night out with the kids – HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We stopped in at The Attic for dinner recently and the food was fantastic. In all honesty, this was probably the best fish main I have ever had. Ever. My partner was also impressed with his chicken dish and it is certain that we will be going back again. One small and insignificant criticism would be that the potato side we ordered was somewhat smaller than what we expected for the price, but otherwise the food was well worth every cent.

Absolute fantastic service from our foreign waiter. Made a special trip out to Mission Bay for a well deserved Brunch on a Sunday morning. We ordered 1x chicken sandwich and 2x Eggs Bene (meat&veg option) Food was delicious as were the coffees. Great views, cannot wait to come back for dinner.

Went here on a Sunday for breakfast and it was so good and also worth the money. Had the eggs bene and for the first time at a restaurant i finally got a decent slab of avocado with it! Will be returning for sure as it was reasonably priced and a great location with beautiful views. The service was also good can’t wait to return for dinner!!!

What a lovely venue. Four ladies for a birthday lunch, not wanting to spend a fortune but get great food and wonderful service. Well, we got it. The Snattics selection were great and a very good size. Plenty to eat and very yummy. Well done, we will certainly be back.

Went with the wife for lunch just after New Years.
It was pretty quiet so we got a seat on the balcony which was very nice. The Staff were good as was the atmosphere.
The reason I didn’t rate this any higher was due to the food standard. I was expecting it to be pretty good after reading the reviews but I found the food very average.
I got the chicken sandwich which was pretty much something you would make yourself at home. I was pretty shocked that the cheese in it was a processed cheese slice.
The wife got the Pomegranate salad which she enjoyed.
The food price seemed OK but the beers were a little pricey, I think about $9.50 for a bottle.
Go for the location but just don’t expect too much from the food.

My husband & I decided to try The Attic for my birthday lunch this year. We enjoyed a platter & wine on the deck on a lovely sunny spring day.
We were so impressed we booked my work Xmas party there.
A group of 6 ladies for lunch on a Sunday, what a fantastic way to spend the day relaxing in the homely lounge.
Platters again for lunch, so tasty and easy. Staff were very attentive & friendly.
Faultless day, I can highly recommend it.

Have been to The Attic a few times now and never disappointed. Twice I’ve had the chefs tasting platter and it was divine, fresh, tasty and too good to share. I’ve enjoyed the ‘ladies night’, cheaper champagne, also with the great food. Recently I held a function for my husband at The Attic. The staff were terrific. The manager was easily contacted on email and always got back to me with my queries. I went for a cocktail taster night and was introduced to several staff making me feel very welcome and that my event was important to them. On the night, lots of positive feedback on the food and The Attic itself as a place to go. We had our own waitress all night saving a lot of hassle of repeatedly going to the bar and she really was terrific, nothing was too much trouble. Will be going back again!!!

We were lucky enough to select The Attic for our combined birthday parties. From our first contact we found the staff professional and accommodating. On the night of our event the staff were fantastic, one person was assigned to assist with ensuring the guests orders were taken so they didn’t have to wait at the bar. The delivery of the food during the night was well timed and of an excellent quality. We would like to extend a personal thank you to Cindy and her staff for making the event an absolute success. We have recommended The Attic to all of our friends.

My fiance and I held our engagement party at the Attic bar two weeks ago.
We searched a few places and this was by far the best for the numbers we were expecting. We had approx 70 invites and approx 45 attended. While the venue holds approx 80 it is a good space for 40-60, in my opinion, especially if you have some older people who want to sit down.
It was excellent value for money for hosting a party. We managed to provide food and drink to our guests throughout the night without breaking the bank.
The venue itself is lovely and has a nice feel. We didn’t need to decorate or do much as it already has good decor. The area also extended out to the deck, which has heaters too! There were enough places (and seats) for everyone.
There is no venue hire fee and while you don’t get exclusive use of the bar the designated area is quite separate from the bar. We had our own assigned waitress too, who was superb. She ran round topping up drinks and handing out food all night. She understood our requirements (bar tab limit, food choices, etc) and was able to steer us appropriately throughout the night to suit our guests.
My partner and I were left to mingle with no worries at all.
The food was lovely (so I’m told as I didn’t get chance to eat any). Drink choices went down a treat too. We selected our own choice of wine/beer covered by our bar tab – which helps make the tab go further. But people could of course buy champagne and cocktails themselves if they wished. Not that people did as the wine list at Attic is pretty good.
Attic bar was well organised and were there to make sure everyone had a good time, which they did. People still say what a good night it was.
Thank you.

My wife has special dietary needs which , though simple seem to baffle some of the best restaurants in town, and were just too hard for other restaurants in the neighbourhood. Head chef, Tristan, not only came to the party, but went several extra miles to make a simple meal incredible both in presentation and flavour. The wait staff were impeccable, attentive without being obtrusive and ready to help in any way. My own meal, selected from the standard menu was excellent. When I visit Auckland again, The Attic will be on my list.

We had a joint birthday party at the Attic and from our first dealings with manager, Cindie, we were impressed. Cindie/The Attic showed a caring attitude to our needs and were flexible to our catering needs and very personal in all their dealings with us. Their communication and service were first class. Great to see in the hospitality business and often promised, however not delivered. Cindie and The Attic definitely delivered and everybody had a great time. We have been to the Attic on a few personal and business occasions and enjoyed ourselves, great to see they are able to cater competently for private functions too.
Best Regards for their success in the future. Our event was a great success, thanks to them.
Glenn & Julie

Just want to say a big thanks to the Attic for making our engagement party such an awesome night! Chantal and Cindie were fantastic, went out of their way and were great to deal with. The mini burgers were a huge hit too! Thanks very much!

I went to The Attic the first time a few months ago with my BFF without knowing what to expect. I was blown away by the gorgeous views, the hospitality of the staff especially going out of their way to find my friend’s particular favourite wine. And the food….what can I say?! Delicious! We ordered a few of the entrees and ate a tapas-style dinner. It was so great that I’ve been back a second time.

Continuing from my previous review (warning do not press enter to go to the next line as this review will automatically post!)We specified to be seated closest to the fire, and to have the fire lit for us.
Our kind french waiter was pleasingly obliging. When taking our order he took particular care with my specific requirements, being that I follow a very strict diet. A few moments later Tristan the head chef came out and introduced himself personally and clarified my request and gave assurance that he would deliver. Tristan and The attic bar delivered exceptional customer service that exceeded all our expectations, brilliant food prepared exactly to my particular dietary requirements, and an overall relaxing and friendly Sunday afternoon experience. I recommend if you have particular requirements with your food and high expectations for customer service, look no further then “The Attic” in Mission bay where the team will deliver an overall experience that will leave you coming back for more. Dined here one night whilst out for a nice drive in the city, service was good and the meal was very tasty, will return, keep up the good work.

I came for a late lunch with two friends a few weeks ago, and we had a lovely time. We sat on the balcony, and had a great view of the main street and water. The staff were friendly and attentive, our drinks came out quickly and we didn’t have to wait long for our food either. Would definitely go again.

I had dinner with work colleges on 26 May. The food was absolutely stunning. The place has a really lovely atmosphere, the fire place made it really cozy. I would definitely recommend this venue to friends. Since eating there I have been craving the Seafood Platter, and can’t wait to go back there again. The service was great, and really friendly.

I had dinner and drinks with friends at the Attic Bar and Restaurant last night and found it to be 1st class in every respect!
The staff where very welcoming and friendly, the overall vibe and aesthetics of the place are really very pleasant for an evening out, but what really blew us all away was the presentation and quality of the food which was simply top notch! I will be back again and will be recommending to friends AAA+

I went to the Attic last night for dinner with friends. What a fantastic night. The food was excellent – loved the squid. We had great service – not over the top just friendly and really attentive. The platters which we started on were seriously good – with nice attention to detail – the pesto was obviously made in house and the selection of cheeses and meat were really really good – not cheap and nasty as some of the restaurants serve up.
I would highly recommend the Attic great atmosphere, very very good food and a good sized range of lovely – not over the top priced wines.
If you are around Auckland / The Bays areas do yourself a favour and check it out. We’ll be back!

I certainly agree about some of the comments about the Manager and wait staff. The manager/owner was the rudest most arrogant hospitality manager I’ve come across(And I eat out frequently). Was told to take off my hat before I’d even sat down at the table it was coming off once I sat down. A group of tourists came at a table next to us mostly wearing hats for the duration of there meal… I ordered the open chicken sandwich which arrived with a burnt bun and mostly hard avocado. Also in the middle of our meal we were asked to stand while a table next to us was moved, would have been nice to wait till we had finished eating. The place was quiet so could not see the reason for interrupting our meal in this way. Great views and aesthetics are about all this place has going for it.

Yum. I love the Attic for a quiet drink by the upstairs open-windows overlooking Mission Bay.
I was delighted that the waitress asked the sommelier to come and recommend something when I mentioned there was no Gewürztraminer option (my fave wine) on the wine list. He came over and with good humour, offered to open a bottle of Gewurzt that he happened to have on hand, and ‘he’d have a glass too’! Really impressed by their service, and the food was delicious – haloumi delightfully prepared.

Had a large work group of us go in for lunch, definitely the nicest place in mission bay, not a tourist trap, just good food and well priced. Sadly my calamari was not up to scratch and I wasn’t meal checked but everyone Else’s meals were great to graze on! I barely touched my meal and if I didn’t have to pay for it I would absolutely be back. However i wasn’t offered my money back for a poor meal so my custom will not go back either.

I usually come here in the afternoon with friends for rose wine and bits to eat on the deck looking over mission bay. Such a good location, and the Attic sticks out against the rest on the strip, far too many trashy, cliche restaurants with poor service and food.
When you come to the attic you feel welcome, get good service, drinks, and food. What more do you want.
Came in for dinner with my girlfriend after our summer holiday, the mains and dessert were fantastic.

Came up to the Attic today what can i say it was amazing great service great food and what a atmosphere. We were looked after with friendly and personal service. Will be back again.

Held our Christmas function here on Saturday night with 16 people attending. The planning and booking arrangements were easy allowing the personalised menu and wines to be available on arrival. Everyone around seemed to be having a good time. Good choice of food for set menu and service to match. My party enjoyed the night and I will go there again.

I am very surprised at the below review! I was also at The Attic on Sunday and had a fantastic day in the sun with friends!! The atmosphere was great, with lots of people and live music. We had no problems with the noise as live music generally is a bit louder! We didn’t find it interfered with our catch up, just added to the fun!! The food was fantastic and the staff (although really busy) were very helpful, timely and easy to deal with. I have used this venue for a work function in the past (which our staff raved about for weeks) and on the occasions I have gone with friends, I have always been impressed. Looking forward to another Sunday there soon!!

Nightmare. The music was on so loud you can’t hear yourself. Dinner conversation was out of the question. Service was slow. The waitress ACTUALLY came to us said, “The chef has just told us they have a lot of food orders, so I am taking it slow on the ordering.” I understand and appreciate the explanation BUT as diners, we don’t really need to be put off like that when we’ve just sat down. Food standard vary from plate to plate. Portion was so small, not even enough for a small eater. Paying the bill was quite a hassle. Overall, food was bad, service was slow and very unorganized, especially when they are packed!!

Great service but the food was bad, bad, bad! The Haloumi starter was just a massive pile of molten cheese with bits of undercooked yet sloppy eggplant and a single leaf of what I think was baby spinach (hard to tell as it was under a thick layer of oil). The hubby’s steak tasted like it had been frozen and the chips were partly raw! I was not charged for the main that I couldn’t eat (felt too sick from entree) so can’t comment on that. Staff were apologetic and lovely but was still very expensive for the worst food I have eaten in a long time.
Great bar though!

We had a late breakfast here on Saturday, a brilliantly sunny day. The restaurant enjoys elevated sea views and has a nice cruisey vibe. It was great to be away from the fumes and busy foot traffic but still have a view. The decor is really pleaant with leather couches and a fire which would be super in winter. The service was friendly and pleasant, and food very good with quite a few points of difference to standard breakfast fare normally encountered. We’ll be back.

The only thing that lets this place down is the service. The food not only looks great but tastes fantastic and is reasonably priced. The staff need to drop the attitude though, you work in service and your job title is waitress i.e. “wait”. Would recommend the place but on the proviso that you order quickly without asking any questions.

I had a wonderful experience at the attic.
Not only my table, but also the table across from mine received food promptly after ordering and all food arrived hot and plentiful. Garlic bread and the bread and dips were great! My 3 friends were also more than happy with their dishs.
Would definitely return!

Fantastic restaurant. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. Staff were very friendly and had a great sense of humor. Would recommend it to anyone.

Really enjoy coming to the Attic. It is the first place I stop when I visit from Whangarei. It has consistently tasty food and a great location/atmosphere. This is a nice place to spend time with people over food and drinks.

I was really impressed with the experience I had at the Attic. From a purely aesthetic perspective, the place has an incredibly welcoming, classy vibe. The balcony was heated and covered and had classic mission bay views. The different areas facilitated a fine dining experience but also a more casual bar atmosphere which meant we were happy to stay afterwards for drinks.
The food we ordered was excellent, reasonably priced and I found the staff serving to be friendly and professional, especially considering it was quite busy.
Would definitely go again and recommend it to others.

not one to venture out often as prefer a good home cooked meal my boyfriend and i decided i needed a time off so off we went to mission bay on our day off for a nice change….
we settle on the attic because of the pretty views it had and somewhat simple menu….from the moment we got upstairs the little blonde girl with glasses was he rudest and most annoying person iv’e ever encountered..now we both work in hospotality fulltime and from the mediocre food way over priced to the english chap behind bar who was serving an intoxicated person…absolutely apalling never in my life am i taking the time away from the stove again after this horrible experience….

Our experience at this restaurant was a nightmare. Not only did we not get what we ordered after waiting nearly an hour, the owner/manager was the rudest individual I have ever encountered in a restaurant. We will not be back.

The service was great! They were all incredibly friendly the moment I walked in the door till I walked out. Genuinely nice staff. The waitress gave me great suggestions on menu and wine items that I ended up being very pleased with. The atmosphere is very nice, comfortable and contemporary. They even had enjoyable shows on the large TV in the lounge area. Great view of the ocean and beach from deck. I like this place and will frequent it again and again.
