Reviews for Bays Club Restaurant

This is a Club restaurant. We’ve eaten at this Club on and off for the last 12 years with friends. We finally became members last year.
They have a fairly extensive menu, with something for everyone. The prices are comparable with the RSA and other Clubs where being a member means you get value for money.
Dinner mains cost between $11 and $21 – and they have days of the week where there are specials. The portion sizes are generous – too much for me; and there is a salad bar to help yourself to.
I usually have fish of the day and struggle to finish. The fish is lovely and fresh.
A beer and a wine will cost $10-12 depending on what brand you decide on, and the drink servings are what you would expect at any pub or restaurant – although in a pub or restaurant you would pay $10 just for a glass of wine.
The Club is in a wonderful spot – overlooking Browns Bay beach out to Rangitoto. The Club staff are friendly and helpful – the atmosphere is “Club” atmosphere, rather than restaurant atmosphere – that is it is a place to belong to, and make and meet up with friends – rather than have a romantic dinner out.
A great place to take your family too as well.

We have visited here regularly for dinner and lunch with friends over the past few years. The meal sizes have become smaller and smaller while the prices keep on increasing regularly. When you order a meal they fill most of the plate with chips to the point that it is an absolute rip off. The fish of the day is never snapper, portion sizes for the meat or fish has become very mean. Now they have cut the size of their wine glasses, keep putting their drink prices up too. We used to find this club good value, they have become greedy and must have lost business.
Most of the staff are friendly and the service is ok.
