Went there early in the evening, no body apart from us. We feel a bit cold, apart from that, The food was nice and good for value. The service was excellent.

We went to the brooklyn bar for lunch on Monday 17th January 2012. I ordered ribs with potato salad and cornbread. This was the worst meal I have ever had. The ribs were below expectation, the meat was definitely not melt in the mouth as normally found on ribs, and the sauce sparse. The potato salad was disgusting, i only had a couple of mouthfuls, one turned out to be cold, old, dry meat, while the potato tasted like old, cold chips. The cornbread was stale and dry, it crumbled at touch, bird food at best. My husband had homemade lasagne that he was happy with, I tried it and it was OK, nothing special.

Last time I went with my bf to the restaurant. The man that served us was very polite and friendly. He served us with nice cold water with a slice of lemon. I always enjoyed having lemon with my ice water.
The food was enjoyable as I had chicken salad and my bf had pasta. The salad have a good combination of flavour, and it was fresh! Pasta was nice too – it’s creamy and had a nice flavour to it. Both dishes are large in portion so we were realy full afterward.

Brooklyn on Queen : I had a blackboard/soup of the day. A filling Taco soup/chicken&corn,tomatoes a very rewarding choice. Having recently returned from the States i was looking for a authentic mexi/U.S flavor and was happy to find this fine example (hats off to the chef) hope to see it on the menu next time. At the kiwi end of things a great feed is a tasty fish&egg burger it,s worth a go. And if you want a late nite drink have a “Brooklyn brawler” not a bad mix to start the evening with. Good food friendly staff great value its all “sweet as”. Happy to pop in anytime i,m up in Auckland thanx Brooklyn.

Some of the worst food I have experienced. Extremely basic menu & food lacking in almost any flavour. I went twice, months apart in the hope they had a new chief, unfortunately the second time was worse than the first.

As well as bad food the service is almost non existent. We were there for 75 mins & didn’t get our water filled once! A wine was included with a meal which never arrived also, so we were even ripped off! I even told the waiter my food was not good & nothing was done about it!

Avoid if at all possible!

we have about 50 items to choose from on our menu.it isn’t extremely basic. we continually get good reveiws, i wonder if the reveiwer was in our restaurant or somewhere else.
