The friendly young waitress set the tone for a very enjoyable evening. The mains very tasty and great value for the price. Meals arrived promptly as there were a number in the restaurant. Overall we were very pleased with our dining experience at Cafe Delight

My partner and I went there for tea last Saturday using a deal voucher for a 1/2 price 3 course meal for two. The young waitress was friendly but the quality of the food was very poor. It is not authentic Turkish at all. My partner's entry was wrapped like small spring rolls, my bread and dips were not authentic. The mains were tasty but we received half size mains when others customer's servings were much larger. The desert was a very small Chinese style baklava less layering and honey. We left so hungry we went and got KFC.

I just love this place. Perfect place to eat in the Hutt before a movie. Cant beat the price, free BYO, friendly service and tasty food. I have been several times and will many more.

We have eaten here several times and keep going back. The food is excellent - fresh, tasty and good value for money. The owner and staff are friendly. Highly recommended for anyone that enjoys Turkish food. Suitable for an evening out, or a quick kebab.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Full marks also for customer service!! I had a deal voucher which I was unable to use before the expiry date. However, when I contacted the owner this was not a problem, which I greatly appreciated.
Highly recommended on both counts.

Myself and 2 friends decided to try somewhere new, we usually go to Kilim in Petone which is amazing, but thought we'd try another Turkish place. The restaurant was empty apart from a couple who were already there. We ordered a grilled chicken burger and 2 lamb Iskender meals. We were very disappointed with what we got. The chicken in the burger was so thin and the bun was dry, not enjoyable, also the Iskender meals didn't seem fresh as the dips that came with it tasted store brought and the meat was over cooked. Also saw one of the staff members put something in the microwave, so not sure what it was that was heated in the microwave. Expected everything to be freshly cooked.
Very disappointed and would never dine there again....

We went for dinner with friends. This was the first time we went to this place. The restaurant is nice and warm. We like their jewelery on the wall. The waitress were friendly and welcoming.
We ordered sigara borek, falafel and mix dips to share. Falafel and sigara borek were both crispy and tasty. We loved it. The mix dips come with four different kinds of dips and some homemade beans which is very delicious. Our mains were fantastic - try the mix grills, meze meal and beef musakka. Serving was huge more than i would normally eat. But we can't help to finish everything. All of us were really enjoy it. And also the restaurant is fully licensed and BYO as well but no charge for our corkage which is excellent!
Would definitely visit again and highly recommend!

Went to Cafe Delight in Lower Hutt for dinner last night. The food was fantastic, exactly what I expected it to be! My friends and I ordered 3 entrees to share - sigara borek, halloumi cheese, and falafel ball. All were cooked perfectly and were delicious and more than adequate in size. We also had mix grills, beef musakka as our main. All mains were a decent size and tasty. Especially beef musakka which is my favourite. The waitress was friendly. Had read reviews that said it was cold before we went there, which nearly stopped us from going. But did not find it at all cold.
Will be sure to recommend this restaurant to friends. Very resonable price and great value for money. Will be back.

We came out for dinner on Sunday night with vouchers. Altogether 14 of us. The voucher of one entree, two main meals and two drinks. All of us were really happy with our meals. All meals were decent size and really tasty. We used to come to this restaurant quiet often when it was SunGai Wang Malaysia restaurant. But we were not disappointed with the new Turkish restaurant here. The shop looks brighter than before. And the new owner divided dining area which makes the shop look nice and tidy. But still more decoration need to be done for this shop. Also the girl works there was friendly and polite. We enjoyed our night at cafe delight.

Four of us dined at this restaurant with vouchers. The waitress was friendly but couldn't answer our questions and the restaurant was a little cold. Serving sizes were average. The meat was cooked very nicely and was tender although lacking flavour. I was disappointed in the pilaf rice which just seemed like watery boiled rice unseasoned. I expected pilaf rice to be cooked in seasoned stock so it had flavour and expected either onion, celery or saffron in it. The haloumi was sliced very thin and instead of crispy fried it looked insipid and had a floppy texture. Dips were nice. Reasonable priced but doubt of we would go back.

I went there with my family last Friday night. It was great. We ordered olive as our entree to share and mix grill, vege mezes as our main meals. The dips were fantastic and the meat cooked to perfection. We were also served one free dessert which is tiramisu. The dessert was really nice and we all enjoyed it. It's so yum!
The prices are very reasonable too. And the waitress are quite friendly. Would have given 5 stars. But the decor of the restaurant needs work. Will definitely be back to try rest of the menu.

We came out for dinner a couple of weekends ago to use a deal voucher of two entrees, two mains and a bottle of wine. The deal made for a good value meal and we enjoyed the food. We began with grilled halloumi and falafel balls for our entrees which were both very tasty. I had the mixed kebab (lamb and chicken) for my main and my partner had the mixed grill (iskender), which was a meat-lovers' delight. Both mains were a decent size and came with a trio of dips and rice. Unfortunately the plates weren't heated so our food was cold by the time we'd finished eating. Our service was very casual, although friendly enough. We were really surprised to be asked to hold on to our used cutlery between the entree and main course; with only six people in the restaurant, we felt this was unusual but obliged ... there was nowhere to put our cutlery except straight onto the table, so we flattened out our used paper napkins and spread them on top. Very strange! Very little of the decor has changed from the previous incarnation of this restaurant, apart from some new wall hangings and pictures. The biggest disappointment at Cafe Delight is how freezing cold it is in the restaurant. There seemed to be no heating on at all, which was never a problem when the previous restaurant was operating in this premises. Admittedly, it was a cold, stormy night but I didn't expect every diner at all three tables to be wearing winter coats inside and still feeling the cold. We moved from one side of the table closer to the wall to try and avoid the draft but it made little difference. Even the waitress was wearing a hoodie and scarf to keep warm. We might go back again to try some more of the menu but will definitely wait until the weather gets better.

Delicious food, very decent portions. Loved the flavors. Nice and cheap. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend for a cheap night out. Will definitely be my new regular restaurant!

Lovely food with large servings, and very reasonable prices. Decor and fit out of restaurant needs work, but still worth going for a cheap night before going to movies or out on the town. Thoroughly recommend and will be back to try rest of menu.
