by Albie H. 27th September 2012: How long does it take to toast a bagel & put it on a plate with some jam & butter? Very disappointing experience this morning at Cafe People…went up to the barista enquiring how much longer did I have to wait for my bagel (it had already been 15 minutes then), the barista did not even look at me but simply replied: it’s on its way. Oh really? Finally, another 5 minutes had passed and the owner brought out the bagel with no apology or acknowledgement whatsoever about the delay! This sort of customer service will definitely win this business a lot of success in the future, NOT!!!
I will only order coffee from now on if I HAD to frequent this cafe again!

P.S. Just received a call from Duncan, the owner, asking why I had to write such a comment in a public forum like MenuMania? First of all, I do appreciate the fact that he called to explain the whole ‘bagel incident’, however, I do consider what had happened this morning was unfortunate and this comment should sumply be taken into account as a way to improve in customer service.

I’ve been going to Cafe People for a while and they do good coffee and delicious food and I will continue to go there in the future despite of the slip.
