Love it – great food, nice people! We go there regularly with business and friends and always have the best experience. The price and the quality of the food is always good and the service is very friendly and helpful.

I love this restaurant.

Excellent service, exquisite food, authentic decor and fair prices.

Favourite dishes = The duck green curry! The tom yum soup was delicious also. I tried the pad Thai at lunch and it was awesome too.

The only suggestion I would make is the lighting – but I guess one could argue that the dark hues add to the ambiance?

Near my work, so I recommend lunch specials which are pretty good value for money. Been here for dinner a couple times with large groups as well and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed dining here, service has always been top notch, prices are relative given its location and still ok value for money, my only critism is that it has pretty poor lighting and entrees and desert menu is abit lacking.

Go here for lunch 1-2 times a week as it’s down the road from work. The Lunch Specials are great at $9.90! Pad Thai is nice with a lot of flavour.

Had dinner there once and it was OK. Not as good as the lunch though (maybe difference cook?) and slightly more expensive than the other Thai restaurants we’ve been to.

Service was friendly and good. Nice decor inside.

Highly recommended.

My partner and I popped in after finding this place in the Entertainment Book – what a beaut find! Walking through corridor to restaurant it’s like traveling out of busy Newmarket and into Asia.
We were in a bit of a rush as our movie started in an hour, but the waitresses were very attentive and reassured us that time wouldn’t be a problem – which it definitely wasn’t. Our food arrived quickly (not so quickly that we were worried about pre-made orders) and it was delicious! I had the duck & veges and the boy had the chilli lamb. Both were fabulous with just the right amount of heat.
The only downside to the whole experience was despite the restaurant being virtually empty when we arrived (one other couple there already) the next couple to walk in were seated at the table next to ours. Interesting choice.
Would highly recommend – great food and fair prices.

We dined here several weekends ago and had an enjoyable experience. The food was good and the service very friendly and attentive. The decor looked like it needed a bit of an upgrade, but I guess it had a sort of charm!
Was nicely priced, especially with our Entertainment Book voucher.

My friend and I had dinner at Dee Jai Thai on a weekend night not long ago. The restaurant is located at the end of an alley and as soon as we stepped into the restaurant we felt as if we had arrived in Asia.

The waitresses were very friendly and thoughtful. When we ordered our entree to share, everything was cut in half for our convenience. The main was average to me, however my friend who likes Thai hot curry said that the curry was hot yet retained its flavour and was very impressed by the dish.

The dishes were slightly on the expensive side. Perhaps lunch would be of better value.

Business group lunch at $15 a head is a fairly standard affair but doesn’t fill you up.
For dinner, my duck curry is simply divine. Sizzling hot plate was also bursting with flavours. In contrast, I would actually recommend against chicken and/or stir fry dish cos they actually become quite plain in comparison. Portion is on the small-to-average side.
The atmosphere is very genuine and colourful, the restaurant is tucked away at the back of khyber pass through a wooden walkway and you feel transported away from the city.

This restaurant is reasonably priced and the service was excellent. We were greeted immediately at the door and attended to well during the meal.

Menu selection is good, with a range of different types of meal, including the traditional thai curries, soups and sizzling platters.

Food was very tasty. We had mussels to start, and then shared a beef curry dish and a soup.

Ambience was good, although the table positioning doesn’t make you very private from other tables.

Price was fair.

We would go back there again next time we feel like Thai food.

Me and my partner have been to over 50 Thai restaurants in NZ and Australia, by far this is the best! I would say that their curries especially the massaman beef and Paeneng chicken is just as flavoursome as the curry I have had in Thailand!
If you like Thai curry this is the place for you.

I have been to a number of Thai restaurants in Auckland, this is probably the worst one ever!

The vegetables in the curry was under cooked, the meat lacked flavour. The beef in the other dish was over cooked. To top it off, Dee Jai Thai couldn’t even make the jasmine rice right!! the rice was sticky and taste soggy and gross!!

When I informed the waitress of the bad quality of the food, she did nothing and said nothing!! did not inform the chef or give me any discount.

Worst Thai restaurant I have been to, would not go there again for sure.
