Picked up menu from Pakuranga food court.5 people went for dinner.Great food,excellent amount of menu choices,very reasonable prices, BYO option and fast service.Will definately be back.Function room upstairs for special occasions too.Recommend to all

This was the most awful restaurant I ate for this price in New Zealand so far. We used the zomato to find restaurant with high rating. And when arrived, we found nobody dining. Just wanna to go but my partner is a easy going guy, so we just had the meal here. The waitress told us there is a there course promotion for 29.99. And when we were ready to order, she told us we can't do one set, we need to pay 29.99*2. As we eat light dinner usually at dinner, so we just order two courses, one Salad for 11.5 and one main for 26. It's really small and tiny for a lady even! And the taste, the main is so dull, no taste of anything and the salad is too much savoury . I don't think this restaurant can open for too long for the quality of food, the amount of food and the service. Never come back.

Great food. Impressed our visiting relatives and kids loved it too. Great price for meal and choice of wine was also good. Decor could be improved, especially the fake wood panels along the kitchen. The decor only matters if you are going for special ambiance. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I would go again.

Went for dinner last night. They had an awesome special of entrée, main and dessert for $29. The food is hearty and rustic. Left feeling very full. Will be back.

My wife and I along with inlaws have been to many restaurants over the years but there is one we keep coming back to.....Frantalia. The food is always excellent, as is the service, and very reasonably priced too. Always come out of that place well satisfied.

I chose to visit Frantalia for my birthday dinner today (6 March 2014). I live locally and have driven past many times but never gone in before. I wish I had sooner! As others have stated the decor is a little plain and the food presentation is basic but I still would consider it one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. The staff were warm and welcoming and the chef even volunteered to make the 4 year old with our party of adults his own pizza. His mum was wrapped! Everyone enjoyed the selection of breads, the mains were wolfed down and dessert was the perfect end to a great meal. I had the steak meal with delicious red wine sauce, a sizeable, perfectly cooked and delicious portion, followed with an awesome Creme Brulee. We are all talking about when we will next be going back and as its priced so affordably it will be sooner rather than later. Thanks!

Fantastic restaurant we here on 22 June for my birthday. Great meal great flavours. Awesome night. This was my first time here definitely come again loved the duck my daughter just wanted more and more of the margarita home made bread. My wife had the Pork masala and wasn't disappointed

Panmure's Best Kept Secret.
We have dined at Frantalia 4 times this month.
A bit of a glutton for good food! My 7 just gone 8 year old daughter loved it so much she requested we go there for her birthday dinner.
The entree's! The scallops and bacon salad was devine, the Margareta Bread was devoured, prawn's mmmm yummy.
Mains we consumed with relish. Scotch fillet with a peppercorn sauce done to a t. My wife had the fillet of pork with an apple sauce she admitted the plate deserved licking clean.
My daughters having the pasta and lasagna surviving a similar fate.
The deserts must be tasted to be appreciated.
All the time served by a very friendly host.
Well done Frantalia!
Well be back without a doubt.

My wife and I, along with a number of friends, have been visiting this restaurant for many years; ever since it was called Estragon and located just around the corner. We cannot resist going back. The food is consistently good (we often don't bother looking at the menu), the service is professional and friendly, the decor is good downstairs, whilst the upstairs is more suited to group dining, and the prices are very reasonable, particularly when you consider the quality of the food. The owner / manager, Djaiz, always makes us feel most welcome. My meal of choice is the duck; slow cooked and finished with a peppercorn gravy. It is very difficult to give this restaurant anything less than 5 stars. We have already booked our next evening there.

This is the third time we have eaten here and we'll definitely be going back again. The food is outstanding and nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. Decor is not up to much, but who cares when the food is as good and as reasonably priced. The bill came to $87 for a shared garlic bread, two mains and a bottle of wine. Highly recommend this place.

This restaurant is the best French/Italian restaurant. We visit frequently and always take friends. We have worked our way through the menu and some. The food is divine, the price is very reasonable, you are not paying Mission Bay prices, but you are getting the quality. The decor is not over the top, hence they are able to keep their prices down. Jazz the chef and his staff do a fantastic job and we will continue to visit. We have recommend a lot of our friends who in turn recommend their friends. They do special theme days, we went to the Bastille day celebration this year, we all dressed up and had a ball.
If you want a great meal I highly recommend Frantalia

It's a little basic inside the restaurant.
Food was nice enough but not enough to make me want to go back.
The problem was that it's like you've gone to your grandparents for dinner and had their standard meat potatoes and boiled veg. It's hearty and nice but you don't really want to go out for it and pay when you can do it yourself at home.
The front of house lady was nice.

We are Europeans and decided to try this restaurant a few years ago; we have returned many times since. It is good honest food at a very reasonable price. the children love eating there and to be honest there is too much food. we recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing meal at a good price. perhaps the decor could be improved a little but the food and friendliness makes up for it and in fact reminds me of my time in Paris

From staff to food absolutly wonderfull the food is to good for the price! has a wonderfull and fulfilling menu! YUMMY!
We go all over Auckland and Im glad to say I havent been to a resturant as splended as this not ever since Pasta an Opera which has been closed for about ten years now. 5 stars all the way and if i could i would reward more.

We visited Frantalia for a birthday with a group of 10, the staff were great and didn't rush us (the owner even stayed late until we were ready to go), we all really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was outstanding, the steaks were all cooked exactly as requested and all of the other mains were delicious. It was great that they all included veges. The best thing is it's great value for money!! I would recommend Frantalia to anyone.

Took my son for dinner before Christmas last year. We both enjoyed the entree, dinner (Had no room ) to sample the pudding menu. But ALL was exceptional and the tastes were quite deliteful.Would recommend this restaurant as it was recommended to me - to anyone.
Very friendly staff and quite relaxing atmosphere

Another great night with reasonable food prices and BYO corkage- plenty to eat for my hungry friends and a nice atmosphere...Jass and his staff made it a nice dinner out with our friends. The duck, pork, the lamb and the steak were all most enjoyable...parking easy and pleasant friendly service

A Solid 4 Stars.
I went there on a quiet dinner for 2 with my soon to be fiance.
Parking up front and you can see directly into the restaurant so you know what to expect. Cheerful and appropriate service from the hostess.
Excellent entrees (we had stuffed mushrooms and garlic bread)
Perfectly cooked Lamb and Steak with straight forward salad and scalloped potatoes.
Best of all the price is great for the quality of food, you could easily pay 25% more in the city for something that isn't as good.
And they have french fries, i love restaurants that aren't too good to serve a good grease hit.
Definitely go back with more people.

Their new venue is nicer and cosier than their previous one when they were Estragon. Four of us went on a recent Friday night. Excellent service and delicious meals for all of us.
Will definitely be going back again, especially as their venue is more inviting now.
