Two words to describe the patisseries on offer “Heavenly delightful”. Went to the French market a couple of weeks ago during the weekend while I was visiting Auckland. I must say I am amazed by the quality of the the patisseries there. Brought an Almond Crossiant, it was unbelievably good!.. perhaps as good as what you will find in France or Canana (Montreal) pastry was so soft, instead of cramming the croissant with custard, it was crammed with this wonderful almond filling. I even brought another one to take home with me back to Wellington and a plain croissant.
There is something for everyone.. Will definitely be back again to indulge myself in more patisseries
Thank you!

This is not for the Bistro Cafe and Deli, Rather, for their involvement in the French Market held every Saturday/Sunday morning till afternoon. The pastry is ridiculously delicious, hot from the oven, with a wide range of pain au chocolat to macarons. The blueberry tarts were topped high with fresh blueberry held together by a medley of delicious real vanilla custard. Macarons were a bit sweet and flavors a little off, but texture is lovely, a tough one to master. The Croissants were buttery , soft pillow on the inside, but flaky and crusty on the outside. Looking forward to eating more of these.

We went last night for the Winter pork roast and it was fantastic. A great setting. Lovely staff and $30 per main which included a large bowl of greens and a large bowl of roast potatoes to share so we didn’t feel ripped off by having to order expensive side dishes. A great place to eat on a cold winter’s night. And lots of large tables to pack loads of friends around.

Total ripp off for an omelette for $16.50 (just the eggs…), friendly waiter but very unfriendly coffee boy…
There was no bread, no tomato, just a bit of olive oil sprinkle, and the supposed to be 3 eggs looked like just 2 tiny eggs in the french omelette.
This was our last time ordering breakfast from the La Cigale French Bistro. Times have been better here before! What a shame.
