Attentive service despite the wait staff having to also look after a large table. I had the crispy skinned snapper. It was served on a bed of mash which sort of killed any crispyness there may have been. But it still tasted good. The head waitress is consistently professional yet still personable and friendly. I’m so pleased Onehunga has somewhere open in the evenings I can take friends to that isn’t a takeaway bar or workingman’s club!

Very good dinner here recently. Had a large group and they accomodated us very well.
I found it kind of funny that one of the guys working there looked like the cat that got the cream.
Can’t really fault the place.
I have been back and the service is really good, they are good at organising things.
I got the fish and chips special and did not really like the fish. However the cheesecake and tiramisu were delicious!

Had lunch here today and it was lovely sitting by the fire. The waitress was very attentive and friendly and the food was good. Opted for the $20 menu with an entree and a main. The seafood chowder was good and thank goodness it didn’t have any cream (which was offered) as it would be hard to eat that and a main. The chowder was served with a generous piece of garlic bread. The main was fish and chips, fresh gurnard and light crunchy batter and wasabi mayo (could have had a bit more wasabi for me). The chips were also light and crunchy – just would have liked a bit more salad with the meal, but to be fair it was “fish and chips”. Even had a glass of wine with the meal for $5 – so all good!

What a fantastic venue – cool atmosphere and the food was great! I overheard that the owner was putting a lot of work into the place and i must say the place looks great – even has one of those things from the titanic (the ship speed control maybe?) that you can ring and feel 12 again! Not being much of a seafood person i ordered the steak as my main. PERFECTLY cooked, and i kept having difficulty choosing what to eat as my next mouthful – the beans and potato tasted just as good! I also tried a few scallops from my partners entree – they were really good too and i loved the sauce they were in. Lastly i had the brownie which topped off the meal nicely – i then rolled out of there full as a bull. Only criticism? The girls bathrooms could be done up a little nicer – loved the ‘inbound’ sign for girls and ‘outbound’ for guys though – a very cool touch!

Once we had entered the restaurant we were greeted by a very friendly waitress, taken to our table and we were well lokked after.
Although the menu selections were small the food arrived in a very quick manner and was fantastic. Overall for 2 entree’s 2 mains 2 desserts and 4 drinks 9/10 $115.00.
Will be back!
