Reviews for Little Bird Organics
31st May 2014
Yes the food is good. However this is one of the most pretentious, humourless places I have ever set foot in. I went here with my mother and the waitresses, who are obviously teenagers, were calling her ‘darling’.
Seriously? The people who work here not to mention the people who eat here- you aren’t somehow above the rest of the populace because you choose to eat raw strips of courgette. It’s the vibe of this place that kills it for me.

My friend and I went there for brunch today. Had the best food ever and would lick the plate too if I could get away with it. My friend had the Little Bird ‘Chicken” with bagel and I had the zucchini spaghetti. Absolutely delicious. I also had the Caramel and Banana milkshakes too and words fail me. Will be back soon

Clean, healthy and raw!
Love this place, one of our favourite places. Never feel guilty coming here, their milk shakes are to die for. Use the best ingredients, always really fresh with great flavours and textures.

After returning to Wellington from the USA and eating some of the greatest raw food in my life, and because Wellington fails to have any dedicated, delicious vegan raw food eateries, I was over the moon with Little Bird. I went there everyday when I was in Auckland recently and if I could have, I would have filled a suitcase with their cakes and menu food to bring back. Alas, that is just silly but I will be going back in a hurry asap. I tried their raw courgette pasta with almond cheese- delicious! Asian “spring” rolls, again delicious and several cakes. The flavours were pronounced, and my only advice is to share the cheesecake with a friend, the passionfruit cheesecake was too rich for my partner, who gave up and I was too full to eat the rest.

Tried out Little Bird Organics for the first time on my morning tea break (15 minutes) to grab a quick smoothie. Couldn’t wait to try. Another lady came in about 2 minutes after me and ordered a smoothie of another sort, and her’s came out first. I waited a total of 20 minutes for mine which I thought was unreasonable as there was only one other customer and her kids sitting in the cafe. The Berry smoothie was exactly how I imagined – amazing, but next time will only be going back if I have more time.

Actually just joined MenuMania to write a review for these guys!! AMAZING FOOD. Can’t believe how light I still feel after having the tart and the tacos. My only weeny gripe is that for the size of the food its pretty pricey BUT organic and raw is expensive so all good

Really enjoyed my lunch here today. The service was super friendly and the food was delicious. I had the “bird bowl”, a generous serving of a mix of salads. I left feeling like I had done something good for my body… A rare feeling after a meal out! I will definitely be back, and am looking forward to their cookbook.
My only criticism is that parking was difficult.

The food is comparable to many of the top raw cuisine restaurants found throughout the world. However the parking and seating is ridiculous, after a handful of visits I now park over at kowhai intermediate and walk over the railway bridge. Get there before 11am for a lunch seat and forget any parties bigger than 2! The last couple of months the service has been moody, except when I have hit the owners who are delightful.

I have eaten here a couple of times now – great food esp the yummy raw cheesecakes/tarts. Too bad the service people were rude! Really lets the place down.

The parking isn’t great and was in for a quick takeaway bite. The place is tiny and seemed a little sparse even the cabinet in the unbakery looked a bit tired. There was really no atmosphere (music) really cold dark kinda feel. The products in the cabinets were not particularly appealing it really looked like bird food. I chose the carrot cake and waited while the cashier took 5 minutes to figure out when, how,why and what she had done with the women’s docket and eftpos receipt before me and finally realised she had put it in the till DUH!!! There were only 2 people in here so don’t understand the frazzled nature of the cashier. When I finally got served and paid for my cake it was disappointing dry nutty carrot tasting energy bliss ball sold at any health food store but just shaped as a cake (boring) it would’ve been better if they had blitzed the nuts a bit more and had it at room temp so it wasn’t so hard and dry and a bit more raw icing on the top and in the middle to cut the nuts. I used to be a raw foodist and have worked in raw food restaurants so in comparison this was not great. Visited Thursday 6 December.

Amazing food, great service, fantastic staff, cosy cafe and mostly raw. By this I mean I noticed one or two things on their menu that is toasted, however mostly raw.
I keep coming back that’s for sure!! The cakes are fantastic, lots of different types and they can prepare a full one for a decent price for the next day pick up!
