I came with a group of friends to the new Ilam Restaurant to have an adventurous introduction to the tagines.
It was just AMAZING: food was delicious, in very large amount, and the friendly team took care of us very well.
We will all come back soon, so thank you again it was great.

First went there in July when I made my family go. They too liked the tasty and exotic food. So NOT bland. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the old fahioned busy cafes when you were engulfed in food aromas and (yes – tobacco). The staff are bright and have to work at a pace almost unheard of nowadays. Buzzy and exciting. I go there often.

We were in Christchurch for a few days for a family event. Christchurch-based friends, knowing we are vegetarians, proudly took us to Mosaic – and what a great experience. Casual, fun – really friendly good-humoured staff, and a fantastic selection of really great food. We had mixed salads (all yummy) and excellent falafel, following by some of the best baklava we have ever tasted!

If we lived in Christchurch, we would make this little gem a regular stop. We don’t, so we are now hoping for a similar restaurant in Tauranga!

Well done and alll the best to the Simo crew as you recover from the earthquake!

Had one of their flatbread sandwiches today. Lovely fresh ingredients, and great flavours. The staff were very polite and friendly, service was quick. The shop is presented well, and has a clean, fresh looking dining area. Great job!
