Overview

A cool intimate bar, but with plenty of space for groups of all size. The food, not an afterthought, but a full grown gastronomic delight: “go forth, knife and forks in hand, fine discerning folk”. The Nuffield Street Trading Co. is perfect for a few quiet Macs brews in the afternoon, late night goodness after dark, scrumptious meals, or to hold your next party or event. The Trading Company celebrates the craft of beer with the full range of Mac’s beers available on tap including all the seasonal releases. All tap beer is served at the perfect temperature and with the perfect pour, all matched up with fantastic meals and platters to share from our menu. As it gets dark we have some of the top DJ’s in the city play Friday and Saturday nights, from Andy JV to Seratonan. There’s acoustic sessions on Thursday from the likes of Acoustic Waylen, with live Jazz on Sunday afternoons, plus all the good sport porn you could want on the big screens. The Nuffield St Brew Bar, the heart of the neighbourhood.

Came here with a friend on Saturday night for dinner with an Entertainment book voucher. To my surprise, it was a great place for dinner. I had been here previously for after work drinks and wasn’t sure if the sound level would be alright for dinner but the back area for dining provided a nice environment away from the music. Service was very friendly and welcoming, attentive but not overbearing. We ordered pizzas and fries, both of which were very nice. A nice and relaxed place for a casual dinner!

I went to Nuffield St Trading Co on Friday night with a group of friends as we had vouchers from the Entertainment Guide. Our drinks order was lost, however they did give us a free cocktail to make up for it. We ordered the lamb burger, vege burger, fish and chips and rib eye and a side of onion rings. The portions were all very generous, especially the fish however a few ingredients were missing, like the gouda from the vege burger and capers from the iceberg and caper side salad. Overall the food was tasty and reasonably priced.

The Putanesa salad (spelling?) is gooood. The mix of flavoursome tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella and tangy things like capers, olives, basil and rocket leaves is yum. I’ve been here a number of times, including a birthday function at a long table set down the back of the place for us (near the cool and slightly crazy kindling scultpure tree thing), and wait-staff were friendly and pretty efficient… and the atmosphere awesome. There’s a great range on the menu, with my gluten-free sister able to find something yum as well. Definitely a great venue for tasty food and a happening vibe.

Dropped into the Macs bar after work on Thursday night. It was fairly busy and they had a guy playing on a guitar, I was very happy to see that they now have pizzas. Although they only seemed to have a few available, the waiter said there will be more available next month. Make sure you try them out.

Regarding food, Nuffield has had its ups and downs depending on who they employed in the kitchen. After being served soggy chips last time, I was hesitant to try their new menu. We had spiced fish tortilla and venison shank. What a surprise! The food was well presented, the portions generous and the taste absolutely delicious.

I went to Nuffield St Trading Co. Brewbar last night with a few friends. The interior design of the place is pretty cool and the staff were friendly. I ordered the Indonesian BBQ Chicken Burger
with mango salsa and fries. The dish tasted pretty good and the mango salsa was a pleasant surprise. We found it a bit funny that the food were all served on Chinese plates.

It was easy to find free parking nearby as it was a Sunday night.

Took a group there. Service & food was good. I ordered the classic fish and chips. The fish tasted fresh and chips were just right.

Went to Mac’s Nuffield St Brewbar with a group of people for my partner’s sister’s birthday. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere, the food and the service were great.
I had the “Open Sandwich” which was pretty good.
