Reviews for Rebo – SKYCITY

Went here for a night out meal & lunch. Got the steaks both time, excellently cooked, great sides with the meal. The dessert to finish was amazing. Only Part I did not understand was the bone on the steak which is sirloin meat and the long waits for food both time. Can not fault the food and well worth going to.

Went to try it out when they were providing the free steak for casino card holders.
When I received it, it was COLD! litterally cold! not warm, but cold!
The prawns were over salted too..
I was very dissapointed, because right across the road was the depot and sean connolly, which make excellent delicious food…but why…oh why…is rebo….so bad…

I came here to treat myself dessert while in the CBD. The Mississippi mudcake was silky and rich, and beautifully enhanced by a ‘candied orange zest’, and a small scoop of ‘flat white’ icecream. Very delicious, very moreish. My one suggestion for improvement would be a slightly bigger scoop of icecream – simply because there wasn’t quite enough icecream to accompany every single mouthful of cake. (My last 3 spoonfuls were screaming out for some icecream to balance the richness.) But I’m not complaining… it was a fabulous dessert.
So I got my easy CBD carparking validated for $5, and I got to have my treat. See, you can have your cake and eat it too!
I knew to come here for this mudcake because I’d spotted it on the menu on Saturday night when we were passing by, and it nearly pulled us in… but we went to Bellota instead (which was amazing – see other review).
Bellota got 5 stars, so Rebo can only get 4. But it’s a cool little place here. The sun falls down through the high atrium ceilings to a handful of tables in Rebo if you’re lucky enough to grab one of those at lunchtime. The noisy waterfall makes for a vibrant space.

We visited Rebo on Saturday night. While the service was excellent (definitely what the stars are for – not the food) the food left a lot to be desired.
Firstly we ordered some beer batter fries while we waited for our meal, however we got what would be considered a VERY small portion to share for a phenomenal price. I would never have ordered them for $7 had we known it was a toddler size portion. Secondly we ordered a less than presentable Margarita Pizza, Hardly any flavour at all and looked like a dogs breakfast. And I mean hardly flavour any. The price and quality of the food here were totally mismatched. Had the food been great I wouldnt have minded the price but it was less than average. In fact I would rather go to Denny’s and order a pizza at least they have flavour.
The service was excellent though. The staff were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable.
**This is the second time we have visited, the first time we ordered surf and turf, the steak was completely inedible. I mean it was so dry it was worse than beef jerky! I returned as we visit Skycity regularly and i wanted to give Rebo another chance. I wish I hadn’t. We wont ever be back.

Best eating place I have been to, I’ve now been 6 times. The service is exceptional, well it was everytime I went. The food is great, especially the seafood pizza when they had it on the menu. Ive been with my kids and I’ve been with my work friends-no one was dissapointed (except when they no longer had salmon pasta on the menu). The food is fresh, reasonably priced and the menu is updated often. I really enjoy coming here for the quick, friendly and professional service. If you spend $20 you get discounted parking- $5 for three hours at skycity which makes it worth it. I highly recommend this place.

My partner and I dined here for dinner. My partner ordered the Surf n Turf and I ordered the BLT with fries both were delicious. Very reasonably priced, and the service was great, it was not very busy while we where there and we didn’t have to wait at all to be seated, we did not have a reservation. Couldn’t fault anything here.

I have now eaten twice recently at Rebo as I often stay at the SkyCity Hotel and have been disappointed on both occasions. Last trip I ordered a steak which came out overcooked, this was then replaced with one that was cooked to my liking but was thn so grisly that I would have been better off with the overcooked option.
This morning I went for breakfast as I was in a rush but couldn’t eat it. The toast was cold, the bacon burnt and the poached eggs apart from looking hideous tasted only of vinegar.
Thoroughly disappointed that somewhere in this location cannot even get the basics right!

Had the bucket of garlic prawns. The prawns arrived and were amazing to look st. Fat, juicy and fresh. Unfortunately i was put off as they were not deveinec and there was hardly any garlic in the butter sauce.

Rebo has changed. We often ate here and even though the menu seemed limited, the few things we ordered like the steak and fish n chips we great! We had many a birthday here just to have the pizza and everyone we bought here enjoyed it. No longer is the case. We bought a client and his family here last month only to be bitterly disappointed in the change of menu and at a glance it seemed like a good change, however when we finally did get our meals – all at seperate times they were average. The club sandwich is literally a chicken sandwich…one that Denny’s would easily rival. I really enjoyed my seafood pasta, however, its not something that would pull me back for.
Service however polite was painfully slow, having to wave down a waiter to have our drinks topped up, and leave our seats to ask at the front to have a waiter take our dessert orders. So disappointed that we have lost our reliable eatery.

Went to rebo for dinner with 3 other mates on a Monday.
We all ordered the special $19.90 which includes a main of grilled chicken with fries and salad and dessert of chocolate cheese cake. It was very good. The atmosphere and service is excellent. Will definitely go back soon:)

Food was OK.
Service attentive and friendly.
Slightly over priced but convenient for film festival.
Would go back for casual eats or with family group.

Great food and great deal! pizza + 2 wine + salad combo is well worth the money! pizza sure taste better than my expectation, thin crust is well made, thought it would be crispy like most pizzas I had, but its actually soft, even when it gets cold, still stays soft and eatable!! Nery nice! Flavor is just right! salad is nothing fancy, with basic dressing and sea salts i believe, portion is great for 2!
Grilled sticks are also recommended! their sauce is definitely the highlight! Service was friendly, manager seems to be doing his job right!
I’d give them 4 stars, but with some hassle free extra discounts from action rewards, it’s such a bargain!

The food was great and staff was friendly.
The two of us ordered a 4-stick beef kebab for appetizer ($10), and their special deal with 2 glasses of wine (or non-alcoholic drinks), a pizza from the menu, and a choice of salad or fries for side dish (just under $25).
The beef kebab was well-flavoured but was not as tender as we would hope, which was expected. But the dipping sauce was exceptionally nice. Didn’t feel like ready-made sauce from a bottle.
We had the chicken pizza, which was very delicious with well-balanced flavours. The salad was a good portion too. Will be going back again.

The main courses were far too complicated with a myriad of flavours that didn’t quite gel. My Scotch fillet was OK, but the potato had died some time before the meal, and who knows what was in the orange coloured mash. The sauce was good.
The dessert was interesting, creme brulee on a pizza base.
The worst features of the restaurant were the dimness of the room and the fact that there were two competing sets of music going virtually all the time, one from inside the restaurant and the other from the main part of the Sky City building. The latter was the louder, but both could be heard. One has to wonder why the restaurant keeps its own pre-recorded music on when there is live music outside.
I would not willingly return to this restaurant. There are plenty of better restaurants in Auckland.
