We visit Sails Cafe in Manly on a regular basis. The staff are lovely, the food is amazing…they may not have tablecloths but who cares when your being served top quality food and large portions at that. It isn’t the cheapest but I prefer to pay for really good quality of food and consistency.

We visited Sails with another couple but were disappointed that it is not BYO – nearly every restaurant in Whangaparaoa is and it certainly makes it an expensive place to eat if you have wine as well with the meal.

We generally found it to be very expensive for a ‘cafe’ style restaurant – i.e. no tablecloths, cloth napkins etc and for the prices and for the fact that it is not a BYO restaurant would expect this.

We haven’t been back as we can find just as good food elsewhere where we are able to take our own wine.
