Shakespeare Brewery & Hotel is a 100 year old English style pub that offers great food, a range of award-winning beers, which are brewed on site, along with boutique hotel accommodation. Their 10 room boutique hotel offers the perfect location to explore the sights and sounds of Auckland City. Gaming machines, TAB facilities and big screen TVs for sports/racing are all available on site. At Shakespeare Tavern & Brewery you can also select from the comprehensive lunch and dinner menus whilst enjoying a view from the outside deck that overlooks the city, or relaxing inside in one of the three bars.

by SHAYE 5th August 2012: Beautiful Old English pub. Food is great and plenty of it – whether you eat in the bar downstairs or in the restaurant upstairs. Menu changes every few months. Some meals are a little over priced, yet they do have SPECIALS which are also very good. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
by Adeline 18th July 2011: Went there a week ago with a couple of friends, keen to try out their menu options. As it was Quiz Nite (and we weren’t interested in taking part) – it was good to know that you could still have a private meal upstairs without all the noise.
We ordered Fish n Chips, Venison Burger and Steak Burger – they were all reasonably-priced, with adequate proportions. We were very pleased with our meals, which was promptly served too.
Service could be improved though, as it was quite an effort trying to get a staff to attend to us. Plus we had to look for the entrance that led upstairs – it would be nice to have clear directions or someone pointing it out for us (e.g. bartender). But overall, if you’re looking for a no-frills, casual, simple place offering hearty meals at affordable prices – this is your best bet!
