Had a birthday dinner here last week and thoroughly enjoyed it, great customer service and awesome food. Good value for money too! So much so, my parents returned the next night! and I will definitely be returning also, Thanks Sliders
Fantastic menu and a unique twist on the otherwise boring humdrum many Auckland restaurants/tapas bars have to offer. We had great service whilst catching up over a bottle (ok – two) of wine with an old friend and found the food to hit the spot just bang on! Will definitely be back. Many thanks!
Antipasto & Cured meat platter was okay. Plenty of olives, the extra ‘s’ in cheese’s’ does not mean a variety of cheese but rather four or five slice’s’ of the same. The pate was missing from ours and we could’ve done with a bit more bread.
My dinner companion ordered the Snapper Fillet. “Healthy option, snapper was well cooked however the mash potatoes could’ve done with a sieve. The mango & pepper salsa was good however the dish needed sauce”
I settled for the Pork Belly. The crackling was amazing, probably the best I’ve had since RICE and the meat was tender, flavorful and the portion was probably enough for two. The mash was good and unlike my companion, I didn’t think it needed a sieve at all. The sauce that my companion so desperately wanted, I had PLENTIFUL. The dish should have been noted on the menu as ‘Port Jus with Pork Belly”. There was so much sauce I transferred the pork belly to a side plate to carve up. With less sauce, this would’ve been a brilliant dish and I think next time I’ll request it (sauce) on the side.
Crème Brulee & Chocolate Mousse were both very good. The berry dipping sauce with the Brulee was nice but not required.
1LTR of St Pellegrino for my companion ($12). Unfortunately for me they had run out of Antipodes Still on the night.
Bottle of Jules Taylor SB for me ($50) kept on ice at the bar which was nice.
Glass of Te Mata-Awatea CSM ($17) with my Pork Belly.
Glass of Johannishof Riesling ($14) with dessert.
The two waitresses were friendly and worked well together. My companion doesn’t drink and was offered alternatives and my wine glass was always full. The only constructive feedback is suggesting the “house wine” instead of upselling when asked for a glass of red to accompany my main. The bar/cashier lad was friendly and the man who I assume is either the manager or owner caused a few giggles when he personally escorted a group of 3 Jersey Shore lookalikes to their table and then allowed the wee darlings to drink their BYO wine at their table on the condition the bottle was not visible on the table. Bless!!
Sliders is unpretentious and gets an A for effort. The staff really do try to be hospitable. One platter, two mains, a bottle of wine, glass of red, glass of dessert wine and two desserts for $194 + 10% tip, ONE CAN’T COMPLAIN.
OMG fantastic place, celebrated mother inlaws bday with kids had a wonderful time. The steaks were perfect and so was everything else we ordered. The sauce on the chicken was ooh la la!! The service was faultless. Thanks to the staff at sliders we all had a great late lunch. We will surely be back!
Had a meal here last night, and have been a couple of times before – amazing food, wine and customer service. Great beer selection too! It’s our new favourite restaurant, can’t rate it highly enough
