Been there several times for meals and takeaways, very good, very fast and real cheap for what you get, have a go for yourselves, you can get most dishes in a range of spice and heat so everyone can try, roll on guys

My favourite Indian restaurant in Gisborne!
I order palak paneer in every single Indian restaurant I visit and their palak paneer just meets my satisfaction!
Amount of paneer is way more than other Indian restaurants serve, also I am not able to finish the meal at once and I normally can leave half for a lunch next day.
Also the staff is very friendly, professional, I have no complain with their serving!

The meal was tasty and the staff friendly. We did however have to wait a long time for our main meal as it did not arrive until 7.30 and we all arrived around 6pm. This caused us to miss the first 10min of a movie we were going to and made us to eat our food in a hurried manner. If you are in a hurry I advise you to let the staff know as they seem to have a lot of takeaways to cook.

Went to Tamarind for lunch with my family including two babies..ate in the outdoor area..loved the service, they were accomodating, relaxed friendly atmosphere, the venue was gold. My baby brother was able to run outside on the lawn, played kicks with the rugby ball, played with the pool table.. whilst we waited for our food. No headaches with kids going crazy. lol The food was SO delicious. Best butter chicken in Gisborne Highly recommended.

Have watched this restaurant with interest since they opened three months ago and these guys just seem to be doing everything right have spoken to the owners on a couple of occasions while dining and for first time owners they are on to it. Food great, prices reasonable, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere to me create a winning formula. Welcome Tamarind to the Gisborne dining scene, you are doing a wonderful job, good luck for the future.
