Reviews for The Britomart Country Club
This place is disgusting, it is so dirty I would not recommend it at all, crates stacked in the entrance, the fake grass on the floor soaked with black water. Staff don't seem to give toss.

Came here on a Sunday evening for dinner. We ordered the beef salad and a wood fired pizza with a hot chocolate and a Stella. The beef salad was very nice if a little too oily towards the end (the salad at the bottom was essentially swimming in liquid). The pizza was nice, very cheesy with next to no tomato base, also quite thin so not the most filling but tasty nonetheless. The hot chocolate was the same standard as any local cafe. The service was disappointing - our waitress wasn't friendly and seemed quite fed up to be honest! Good price for the food overall, nothing special though so not somewhere I would rush to go back.

We were warm, well looked after. The staff were polite and attentive, almost robotic – except for the guy who described the Smoker’s drink choice as “A glass of Pure F***ing Joy”. Hospo night here must be intense.

Went there last night and had a really good time. Food menu is fairly simple, mostly burgers and pizza, which arrived not King after being ordered. Their sangria and sipsmith cocktails were delicious! Plus they have an OK wine list. Music was really cool too, very nice atmosphere. Just a heads up, it is essentially treated as an outdoor area, so people can smoke at their tables.

This is a good place for a few drinks before dinner, with a particularly good sangria, but we were a little underwhelmed with the menu offerings - it's mostly burgers and pizzas, and not particularly well prepared.

A nice atmosphere for uni students i think - it has a great cocktails and as i am quite a critic on fried chicken - my favourite thing to eat I was so happy there was hot sauce available at arms reach! A little bit of a wait while waiting to ordering but the service was overall pretty average but everything else was on point.

Went to Britomart country club on Monday afternoon as my friend received a promo for free pizza as it was her birthday recently. The staff were nice and took our order promptly. We ordered a cocktail jug which arrived quite fast. About half an hour later we noticed our pizza still hasn't arrived, so we were given another cocktail jug for free. Although we couldn't finish it. The pizza arrived, slightly burnt on the sides but because we waited so long we finished it all anyway. When it came to paying, we were told our voucher repeatedly failed so we ended up not using it. But later on discovered it had actually gone through.. The waitress just didn't know how to process it. Ended up late for work because everything took so long.
The atmosphere is really nice and cocktail jugs were delicious! But the food and service was quite average.

Amazing new menu including a wide range of incredible pizzas. Prosciutto funghi is my favourite so far with the BBQ beef & bacon as a close second.

The vibe here is always awesome and the environment of this place and its location is always buzzing. Its a fantastic place to be.
The food unfortunately doesn't live up to that. I had the fish burger and Kumara fries. The burger was very underwhelming. It seems like something I could whip up myself and it was also cold. Wasn't impressed at all. The fries were decent as well but nothing special.
My drink had ALOT of ice, to the point where all I could taste was ice water. Its disappointing considering what you pay.

Loved it. Went there for a drink and had calamari and potato skins to keep us going. Both were lovely. Good food, good environment and very friendly staff. One girl in particular, Camilla, had on a genuine smile the whole time she helped us with what we wanted. Would definitely recommend this place for a good Friday night session.

Open space is a great place for a drink in summer, though pity about the smokers! Service is ok for drinks here and if you get a seat you can get table service which helps avoid the lines for the bar! Good menu is always changing so a bit confusing.... This time it was Wood fired pizzas which were OK! Have also tried the fried chicken here and was good but not the best in town! I would say this place is great for a drink and summer vibe...but food is better elsewhere in britomart.

Really cool relaxed vibe which I can imagine will be packed in summer! I had the market fish burger which was delish! As well as a blueberry cocktail, and pear flavoured one both were delish! Love the music always going there really different but sets a really chilled out atmosphere for the place. The staff were friendly and helpful although slightly slow to coming back to your table, nonetheless we didn't mind but some might. Would definitely go back!

Came here last night before a work event to get some food and drinks with my work mates. It was such a cool atmosphere and the food and cocktails were all amazing. A little slow service but it was worth the wait!

Came here for lunch and ordered the ceviche. Whilst the BCC has a great atmosphere, my dish didn't impress. Definitely more of a pub venue to come to rather than for food. Will be back to try something else and give it another shot.

I love the layout here, such a cool vibe. Order a burger and fries which was enjoyable, but not the best burger I've ever had. Service was pretty fast and friendly. I wouldn't rush back anytime soon as I believe there are many better options in the Britomart area but overall I was satisfied with my experience!

Really nice place To go for some drinks. The food looks really good but didn't try it because I had already eaten dinner in another place. so i will comeback to try the food and the Sandria too.

Been here a couple of times for dinner, and once on my birthday with a bunch of friends for pizza. The courtyard is very pretty and always bustling on a busy night; love the atmosphere and all the greenery! The pizza’s are delicious and relatively affordable for their size and toppings. They also do delicious cocktails and drinks, which I’ve tried a few off and really enjoyed. I also got a free shot of my choice on my birthday, which was definitely a great plus for the night! Highly recommend for after work drinks, casual dinners or catching up with friends.

Walked in, stood around for a few minutes waiting to be seated. Meanwhile staff were hanging by the bar chatting so we seated ourselves. Staff walked past us, completely unaware that we had no menus. Another 5 minutes passed, so we decided to ask for the menus. Food came fast but tasted horrible. Got the trio of sliders. Expected the burger to have different sauces as described. Was only given a tiny sized patty with lettuce and Mayo for all the sliders. The only decent thing was the fried chicken. I also realised I was charged $16 for my main instead of $10 as advertised for $10 mains Monday-Wednesday. Will never come back here again. Waste of money and time.

I love their drinks especially the cocktails. The environment and setup are pretty cool and it's such a nice place to hang out with your friends. However, I have tried their food once which wasn't a good experience. The food is quite tasteless for me. Still would come back but for drinks only :)

Disgusting food, horrible service.
We went as a groups of co-workers and not even one of us been served decent food.
We had a vegetarian among us and has been served bacon, he complained and the waiter said well leave it on the side and don't eat it 😱
Are you serious???

I've only every ordered a drink from TBCC but saw on their FB page that they have $10 meals on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. So we thought why not?!
The atmosphere is inviting and buzzing with heat lamps and a DJ. The service is polite and attentive.
We ordered the BBQ Pork Ribs and 2× Trio of Sliders. The ribs were melting off the bone and so saucy, it was a mess but so worth it. The portion was generous and very fulling. The trio of sliders were average. The buns were slightly stale; and the fish and lamb sliders lacked flavour and were dry. But the chicken karaage slider was tender and delicious. The chips were undercooked like they were soaked in the oil for too long, and the aioli tasted off like it had been mixed with hoppy beer. Overall for $10 a plate, the food and ambience was great.

Nice place for causing drinking, also a good place for a couple of friends to chillax. Went on Sunday early dinner time and they told us they already ran out kumara when we were ordering kumara chips & one of the dessert we was gonna order. We got some beers and burgers and potato chips instead. I didn't expect their food would be nice as those dining places so meal was alright. Chips were yummy though.
I have to say BCC is a place has cool atmosphere in town, would like to go there & grab drinks with mates from time to time.

Had a quick pre-drink here before heading out to dinner. We could have eaten here but it was slightly cold and it's not what I expected a "Country Club" to be like, more of open space covered by a tarp.

I have had mixed experiences here - maybe it is for a younger crowd and I know my daughter is a fan of the place later at night. The have a good range of drinks and the ribs are a classic but they do get mixed up with better burger next door and the staff can be grumpy when better burger customers try and sit in the BCC area. Other times it was great.

Man I love this place such a cute restaurant and got a relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely come back for more. Wish there were more food on menus though. We ordered raspberry mojito, blueberry smash, fish burger, pork ribs, pulled pork burger and chicken burger. They are all good and I'm keen for more

Came here for the first time to eat, love the feel of this place but the service was not great, didn't feel welcome at all. We shared a few sides; kumara fries, onion rings and fried chicken. Only took about 5 minutes to come out which is a bonus. Good to go to when looking for a quick feed and nothing special.

It's a good fun place but the pricing is ridiculous for a tap beer. The service has been up and down at times so you never get any consistency accept the high prices a d handy location. Sad and hope next visit is on the upside service wise.

We came here for lunch one day and the service this time was a lot better than the first time I came here. We were acknowledged when we walked into this restaurant (unlike last time) which was nice. I ordered the ribs and my partner ordered the chicken burger.
I've been here once before to share a huge plate of ribs before Demi Lovato and we ordered an ice tea jug which was so so so worth it. This time we ordered another flavor of the iced tea (mango — we couldn't order alcohol because we drove and I couldn't finish a whole jug by myself haha). For $10 these non alcoholic jugs are so good! Can be shared between three people and each person gets about two refills. The ice teas taste amazing as well!
My ribs were really good as well! Meat came off the bone quite easily which is always good! This would be a really good place for drinks at night and some nibbles. I am so excited to come back and actually try some cocktail jugs and the late night snacks!

Such a neat and relaxed place to get away and have drinks with your friends. It doesn't have the same kind of vibe as regular bars, maybe because you feel a little more sophisticated amongst the greenery sipping your cocktails ;). I'd recommend getting a cocktail jug to share with your pals over a meal. Every flavour is delicious, and they often change them, and the menu, up every so often, so there's always new things to try out. :)

I'm editing my review because my recent experience was terrible.
I haven't been to BBC in a long time due to their constant changes in their food menu. The food was no longer worth the journey there.
For my birthday I received a free pizza/main coupon so I thought why not since I still like their jugs.
The Thai punch jug was awesome as usual. The pizza took so long to arrive. A waitress over heard us talking about it so she went to go check on it and let us know that it'll be out soon and gave us a free jug to compromise. We couldn't really finish two jugs since we already had one but it was a nice gesture.
The waitress that was originally serving us didn't check up on us regarding the pizza or drinks and gave us awkward side eye glances where we felt judged. She had a bad attitude.
When we came to pay we stood at the bar cashier where I saw the FWB iPad to scan my coupon but she called us over while standing at the main bar. She didn't come other to get us. She like pointed at the floor in front of her.
She tried to scan the coupon and it came out invalid. It was not used and there. She kept scanning it at one iPad. She didn't try the other one and just told me it's not working.
To avoid embarrassing my friends I just paid.
Later on another group of friends wanted to go BBC and then the same waitress tried to scan my coupon again at the first cashier we were at (with the FWB iPad) and it worked. She then told me I can use it next time. She shrugged with her apology.
I sent an email regarding this issue but I haven't had a response.

Not many venues in the city have the ambience that one finds at BCC. It feels like you are inside with the shade sails but in fact you are technically outside and it is fine to smoke which adds plenty of atmosphere. The entire place has oodles of character and feels like you might be in a different city. Lots of tables (high and low) with bar stools and a central bar. Food is also served here, menu looks good, and the BCC becomes a vibrant nitespot after dark with queues of partygoers wanting to get in...

Made the mistake of coming here on a friday night! Was soooooo busy but luckily found a seat at the end of a table of smokers... how lucky were we.
While I am not a fan of smoking and that is my opinion, I personally feel they should not allow smoking at Britomart Country Club, especially as it is basically a closed premise. But who am I to tell a bar what to do? haha
3 of us arrived, ordered drinks and some food. The food came out so quick, almost beat us to the table! The kumara chips were among the best I had ever had! the fries though were ordinary and bland, and the calamari was nice but didn't get many pieces for what we paid.
All in all, wasn't too bad, nice place for a drink and listen to the talented musicians. Might return when the new menu is up and on a more quiet night!

Odd experience, had a few drinks after work - 2x Bombay sapphire and tonic. First one I was charged $10 at the bar and second one I was charged $11 by the waitress who came around for another order. After I explained I paid $10 at the bar, she insisted that I had been given something else not Bombay (I had watched the barman pour a shot of Bombay) and I had to pay $11. It's only a dollar but reflects very poorly on the service.

Nice Friday lunch. Had the steak sandwich and fresh fruit juice. The food came out really quick and the quality was above my expectation. The steak was cooked just right and the chips was very nice as they were hand cut with skin on. The juice was freshly squeezed but had just abit too much ice in it which made it slightly tasteless.
Overall, would likely to come back again for lunch for a nice Friday afternoon gathering.

We stopped here for cocktails on a Thursday night. This was my first experience of drinks in Britomart and it was really enjoyable. The space is large and open with lots of seating for all tastes, benches and tables and high tables with bar stools.
We waited quite a while for a waitress to come over to take our order but it was worth it. We ordered a jug of white sangria for 5 of us. It was enough to feel like we'd had enough to drink. It was also really pretty and photo worthy which is becoming more and more important.
I liked that there was a live DJ playing but the music was really loud and sometimes it made conversation difficult. There was a bit of a breeze as the wind picked up and blew through the open space but nothing a cardigan can't fix.
Overall I enjoyed myself and I would go back to try the food. The menu looked really good.

Registered for Zomato purely based on the absolutely fantastic service we received when me and my girlfriends came in for lunch. We were looked after by a rather young and handsome male waiter during a busy Friday lunch service, but somehow managed to make us feel like we were the only table he was looking after. The service was quick and attentive, ensuring everything was okay with our meals and drinks, all whilst maintaining an exceptionally warm and friendly style of service and even remembering our individual orders when we came up to pay.
The food was also great, with four of us getting the special beef burger (which was delicious), and the others sharing small plates among themselves. We we're also pleasantly surprised to have our first round of drinks on the house with their loyalty system.
The service at Britomart Country Club has made fans out of all of us, and we will definitely be back.

Review purely on drinks and atmosphere.
Came here on a Thursday evening with some girls for a drink and a catch up - the atmosphere was really nice and fitted the bar's decor well. There was a live DJ with nice music and there was plenty of seating and space to be had (though, sometimes music was a bit too loud).
Looking over their extensive drinks list, we decided on getting a jug of drink to share between 4-5 of us. We went for the White Sangria. It served about 6-7 small glasses. Everyone seemed to really love it, the Elderflower taste was a bit overwhelming for me but it was lovely nonetheless. Another girls ordered a Peach Iced Tea which looked really nice too- presentation was A+!

First time to BCC and was stoked because on Sunday's it was hospo deals. Which was 1/2 price.
The food was alright I guess, I got the chicken burger and it's more like an expensive Burger King burger. The calamari was nice but needed more flavour..
The set up is cool, it's chilla as which is why I liked it. The Sunday Dj was cool too.
I will be back to check out more of the menu.

I have only ever been to Britomart Country Club for drinks, but have always wanted to try their restaurant menu. They used to serve delicious pizzas (which sadly I never tried) and other dishes, but have just recently changed their menu - from pizzas to 'Kiwi' inspired dishes. Think 'Fush n Chups', 'Bucket O Chicken' and 'Smashed Pav'.
I think Britomart Country Club is one of the coolest venues in Auckland CBD, in terms of décor and atmosphere. It is like no other restaurant, with its garden outdoor setting. I love the hanging plants, the artificial grass, the trees, and the varied seating. Once inside, you do feel like you are out having a picnic, which is unusual in the centre of town, but very relaxing as you are away from the hustle and bustle. The atmosphere is top notch. The restaurant and bar were packed on the night we visited! (Maybe also because the All Blacks were playing and they had a huge screen plus a TV showing the game...) Everyone was happy and enjoying their night!
Two friends and I went to Britomart Country Club a few weeks ago on a busy Saturday night. I was lucky enough to win a voucher and very excited to try their new menu.
We first started with drinks and small plates. I ordered a 'Mamacita' jar (a $12 cocktail consisting of tequila, pineapple juice, passionfruit pulp, lime juice and grenadine), one friend ordered a 'Lemmy Lemonade' ($5) and my other friend ordered the 'Hot Mulled Wine' - a 1 litre jug for $25 made up of red wine, maple syrup, cloves, orange, cinnamon, star anise and cardamom. All the drinks were perfect. I highly recommend the 'Mamacita' jar or any of their yummy cocktails.
For small plates, we ordered the 'Roast Vege Salad' ($10) - a variety of roasted vegetables with feta cheese sprinkled on top. This was a nice dish and all the flavours worked well together. The 'HCHM Fries' (hand cut, handmade) priced at $12, and a large serving with a yummy sauce. They were very moreish, according to my friends! We also ordered the 'Mac n Cheese Bites' ($10) - small balls with macaroni and cheese inside. Unusual and not enough flavour - really needed some bacon!
For mains, one friend and I shared the 'Bucket O Chicken w/ slaw, potato and gravy' ($30). Absolutely delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly, with a more sophisticated crumb compared to something like KFC. We really enjoyed the drumsticks! The slaw was tasty, but the best part was the mashed potato and gravy! I could have easily eaten another bowl! My other friend ordered the 'Smoked Fish Pasta' ($14), which was also delicious. The pasta had a nice pesto and the fish was very yummy.
Lastly, desserts. Well, I was really looking forward to the 'Smashed Pav' ($8) and the 'Carrot Cake' ($8). When I told the waitress that we wanted two carrot cakes and a smashed pav, she replied saying they were not serving carrot cake tonight as the "chefs could not get the recipe right". We were gob-smacked. Making a carrot cake is easy! We could not believe what she had just said and were extremely disappointed. Also, why couldn't they put on their menus that they were not serving carrot cake - that would have been more helpful! (We could have popped across to Milse instead....sigh).
Instead, the waitress offered Hotcakes with maple syrup and ice cream. I couldn't pass up on that because I love hotcakes. However, I do think they are more of a breakfast meal... They were pretty good and cooked really well. However, the 'Smashed Pav' was also a disappointment. Just a whole lot of crushed meringue with a raspberry sauce that was too bitter. No sign of a 'Kiwi' pavlova there.
The service was great though - our waiter always topped up our water, asked how our meals were, asked whether we would like another drink etc and we were lucky enough to have a very attractive and kind male waiter (who we must of stared at the whole night!)
Overall, Britomart Country Club is a great place to come because of the exciting atmosphere and beautiful outdoor setting. The food is tasty, but I would rather go across the road to other Britomart restaurants for more delicious and authentic food. They say their food is 'Kiwi' inspired, but it was really just upmarket pub food. Although some of their food is 'Kiwi-ish', I was hankering out for some seafood and a REAL pavlova!
[Side note: Britomart Country Club does not take bookings, so I suggest getting their early about 6/6.30pm, like we did. We also got a park right outside, which is lucky! Otherwise, I recommend taking public transport as parking is usually horrendous around the Britomart area!]

Typical of the general Britomart area, this establishment is stylish yet with a slightly down-to-earth ruggered ambience. We arrived and the place was pretty full and had a real buzz - music pumped through the speaker system and people lining up at Better Burgers next door. Their staff promply welcomed us and after enquiring, took our orders from their restaurant month menu. The country club is a covered out door restaurant and bar, and as such whilst it may be awesome during summer, it was a little chilly in a winters night. Their fire heaters helped but was intermittent especially when it became windy. Our food was very decent - the steak sandwich was served medium rare with pretzel rolls and the fries made fresh, similar to how Better Burger does it. The desserts were pretty good too, citron lemon tarts went well with the tea we ordered and the eton mess tasty. The overall experience was fine and their staff worked hard and was friendly. If only the weather was a little less cold (and maybe if the music volume just a little lower) it would have been perfect.

We went to Britomart country club for a lunch in the city and were torn between better burgers or the country clubs menu.
We settled for the country club.
The garden bar and pristine white tables made it felt like summer again. And I need to visit this place again in summer for sure!
I absolutely adored the light and relaxed atmosphere.
Service was great but menu was a bit limited to what we expected from Zomato's shown menu.
We had the fish and chips and the chicken salad
Chicken was fried and tossed in to a very nice salad. i found peas in salads a bit odd but they worked well anyway.
Fish and chips was very filling and the slaw was very good with its dressing.
Food was reasonably priced and the restaurant is very chill and comfortable.
I hope to go again for a night time meal and maybe for casual drinks

So I haven't been there for actual food so far, only drinks and pizza but I am loving it so far.
The menu is really nicely priced and there's Better Burger there if I remember correctly. It's definitely up my stream and the atmosphere is great and service is good.
I had their mojito and it was reallllly goood and not too expensive if I remember and they sell Rekordelig so of course that's a good sign for the ladies. Well the ladies who like it, which is every girl that I know so far haha.
How amazing does my pic of that Pollo pizza look as well? It was filling for 2 and $20 so expensive in the sense that there wasn't that many ingredients but not so expensive when it is filling and shared between two.
Perfect place for a date and right by britomart so no worries about transport or parking and the inside looks amazing. I lost the photos I had taken of the inside unfortunately but if I do another review I'll be sure to take more.
Update since the - 2014/15 kumara chips here are the freakin bomb!!! Blueberry cocktail is bomb and the Thai jug is sooo good and having lychees in them adds an extra touch to near perfection! Would definitely recommend this place to have a night out

Signed up to leave a review for the first time!
what can I say... venue is stunning, good atmosphere but very unfriendly staff. Visited for the 2nd time, as there was supposed to be a fashion week closing party of some sort. Walked in on a Sat afternoon for some food and drinks, stood there in front of two staff, one on the phone avoiding our eyes, and another one ignoring us in plain sight- had to wave our arms to get her attention, who told us to sit anywhere, as if she didn't care and looked away. She looked like she really didn't want to be there. So we sat at a close by table, only to be told that that table was taken/or reserved? And was told to go sit at another table- when asked about the closing party that was supposed to be here, she said she's not sure, the organisers are not here, and then walked off. Finally a nice enough male staff came by and told us to sit at another table and took our order. Food was average, drinks were nice, but the staff were not just passive, but really unfriendly, inattentive and not enthusiastic to serve. Stood around for 10 minutes to pay at the end- the couple waiting to pay in front of us was held up, as the staff member could not find their order, despite of them telling her their table. Poor service will stop me and my friends going there again.

One of my favourite place to go with my friends! Lovely atmosphere during the day lively and busy at night! Their food are iconic and unique. Love the new menu, especially kimchi burger! But you probably will have to wait for like a half an hour to have your food when it's busy.

Don't get me wrong - BCC is a top-notch venue. Really nicely designed interior and graphics, friendly service but a menu that reads far too nicely to be true.
The fried squid side was almost literally 5 pieces - a bit skimpy for $8, no? We ordered this last time we came and there was at least twice the amount. How stingy the portion was was almost laughable (almost - the laughter comes later.) The po-boy inspired hamburgers were a little on the small side, but were yummy and filling. Not too bad for $10. Fresh-tasting with unique ingredient combinations. However, it was the crumbled pavlova dessert that made us choke. On the sheer lack of it, that is. I wish I could say there was enough substance to cause choking.
It was 95% badly whipped cream, 5% broken up pieces of meringue in a martini glass with chopped mint, two sad strawberries and the sauce that they died in mangled on top. Throughout the disaster that was eating this 'pavlova' I kept convincing myself that no, it was just in the bottom, I had to just dig enough.
Alas, it was not there, and we left with a stomach full of whipped cream. So glad we didn't pay full price (used deal voucher) for this, would have cried at the value.

I am at a loss to understand why this place is so popular, especially during the day where unfortunately you can actually see your plate.
Ordering a $15 chicken sandwich turned out to be an overpriced and flavourless affair, cooked up with as much care for both presentation and taste as something form a long haul airline kitchen.
It's saving grace was the service, which was quick and polite, though I feel sorry for them having to serve food that is nothing short of utter dross.

Bought the deal voucher for this or would have not tried it out.
Very nice interior design, however, too bad there were too many flies.
Staff didn't help us get seated right away, and didn't bring the menu until we asked for them. Also when we wanted to order they kept looking away.
If it wasn't for the food quality, I would have only given a 2 star.

Worst service ever.
We pre-ordered, but they lost the order.
After 15 minutes of sitting, a waitress finally approached our table and started handing out menus. We told her we had pre-ordered. She wandered off and five minutes later returned to tell us she didn't have it. Fortunately we still had a copy of our orders so we gave it to her.
She didn't know what the dish or soups of the day were and that took more waiting while she wandered off to ask again.
After thirty minutes, still, no one had asked us if we wanted to order drinks or offered water for the table. We had to approach someone to ask. When we said how long we had been waiting they didn't apologise but said they were very stressed because of some breast cancer promotion. But there were only four other tables of people so that didn't really convince us.
Incidentally there were a dozen of us, all professionals in suits so it was quite obvious we were on our lunch breaks and didn't have this much time to waste.
For the prices, one would do expect far better service but this was worse than burger king. .

Great atmosphere and extremely good drinks and food. Love the vegan pizza and the falafel entree. Happy to see they have vegan nice cream as well but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I've been here a few times already and the staff have always been fantastic except today. I came in with my friend and a lovely red haired girl waited on us until she was signed off. More staff appeared as it got later into the evening and a brunette girl took over floor service. My friend and I were almost ignored for about half an hour while she talked to other staff and would avoid any eye contact when we tried getting her attention and then we had to wave to a different waiter to serve us. My friend and I work in hospitality ourselves so we were really disappointed with this. The service from the other waiter was fantastic and friendly so I didn't really leave unhappy.

It was my first visit to the BCC and I was impressed with the decor. We had a fairly large table of Friday lunchers but we were early and therefore it wasn't quite busy yet. That said, the drinks orders were slow to be taken and slow to arrive. Service otherwise was ok.
The majority of our table ordered the ribs - priced at $19 on the menu. What came was clearly some kind of cut-down lunch special as it had a couple of miserly rack offcuts piled on some fries with a garnish. The rib sauce was cold and the coleslaw was missing. We asked if the lunch was a special on discount. The answer was no. I expressed our disappointment at the portion size and missing coleslaw at the till and was assured the chef would be notified. I would think that with such a large number of complaints the response might have been better.
I didn't stay for a 2nd beer. I won't be back for lunch until I hear more positive reports....

Have been a few times either on my own or with friends, and have always had a great time. Whilst it can get quite busy and at times a bit of a struggle getting to the bar - the staff who come around checking on tables are very obliging, polite and courteous. Prices are reasonable - Bar staff are very cool. Good entertainment as well. Will keep coming back.

Went last Sunday for a relaxed couple of drinks and food. Ended up having the antipasti platter and a bottle of Rose and was very happy! Good service, reasonable prices and a cool, relaxed atmoshpere.....will go again to try the tapas this time!

I came to Britomart Country Club for High Tea on Mothers Day. It was an exceptionally beautiful experience, we were treated amazingly. The only downfall was that my grandmothers coffee was cold when it got to her but she was too polite to complain. I've been here again and enjoyed the mulled wine jugs - so delicious! Fries and pizza were good as well

I came here with my wife the other day and was rather disappointed with the food and service. The waiters looked to be more interested in talking to themselves rather than serving us and the tapas and pizza we ordered was not to our liking at all. Some of the food was cold, the presentation looked like it had just been thrown on the plate and it was just not a good experience at all. I don't usually complain but it was a special evening for me and my wife and we feel that it ruined what was supposed to be a good night.

Highly recommend this place for either just dinner or a big night out. The jugs of cocktails and fresh juices are reasonably priced and tasty and the tapas are fabulous! Great atmosphere and location

Well-priced, yummy dishes and pizzas. Oh and the sangrias are really nice. But mostly, I come here because I like how it's been decorated. High tea is really nice here too. My friends and I always walk out happy when we dine here.

I went there for a Sunday brunch and loved it! It's nice to see places in the city that with their simplicity makes the most of it. I liked the structure of the place, makes a relaxed atmosphere and a great place to hang out. The staff members are very polite and friendly. The food is great, there are plenty of options to suit all taste buds, will definitely come back soon!!

I went for the first time to Britomart Country Club last week, I must say the ambience is delightful but the service was pretty bad!! Really rude waiters.
On the food front they have a tapas menu going, we tried a biting everything some delicious chicken wings, really nice an moist meatballs, and a deliciously spicy lamb skewer!
But I must say by far my favorite must have been the ham croquettes!
Well done and complements to the chefs!!!
Will definitely be back for more.
And don’t worry about the service, the food and the ambience are definitely worth it!
Thanks for a great experience!

Despite thoroughly looking forward to booking in for a high tea for two we have found the booking system appalling, especially when needing to give 48 hours notice. We started phoning on Thursday evening to make a Sunday pm booking. A message was left as requested but due to no one getting back to us as promised we continued to phone the following day leaving more messages and then resorting to the email system. Almost 24 hours after starting this exercise we still have had no response. How are we meant to give 48 hours notice for a high tea booking if no-one answers the phone or gets back to us ? So far we have found this incredibly frustrating but are hoping that BCC can redeem themselves. If nothing more than just to get in touch and let us know if they truly exist!!

The sign outside said it opened at 10am but actually didn't open till 11am, but it was a lovely day and we whiled away the time relaxing and people-watching from the outdoor bean bags on a grassy area nearby.
Quirky indoor/outdoor cafe on a corner site with old-bricks shop walls on two sides, fencing and plantings on the other two. Great decor and ambiance, the service was very friendly and the pizzas to die for. Will definately go back next time we're in Auckland Central.

We were stoked to find a place still serving food after 10pm.
We were the only ones still eating... so I think they were being super-kind to us. The place was completely packed out, and had a fantastic party atmosphere. Live DJs, and they had an old black & white Charlie Chaplin movie silently playing against the brick wall after the rugby finished, which was very arty & cool. Inspite of all the action going on, we could still comfortably hear each other talk, way over in the dining area.
We thoroughly enjoyed the pecan pie & icecream that we shared. REALLY delicious. Before that we shared a beetroot & feta salad with pinenuts. All aspects of the salad were nice... except for the mesculin/rocket that accompanied it, which was maybe less than fresh? Anyway... we weren't too worried. It was the experience we were after, and the atmosphere was great.
The waiter made a great wine recommendation when I asked for a sweet aromatic... so I had two... Lovely. The last round of drinks were rather slow to come - and we asked after them, and they arrived instantly with an apology - so no problem there.
All in all, on a Friday night it's a great place for people-watching, drinking, and having a laugh. You'd definitely need to book if you wanted to eat there in the segregated dining area - we swung by at 7pm and it was fully booked. Glad they let us in after 10pm - it was a great ending to a brilliant night of Pub&Food crawl that we'd been on.

An interesting place that seems like it's still finding it's feet. Had lamb loin which is the best lamb I've ever eaten. It was served on an avocado tapenade. You might need to order a side if you are a big eater but the portion was perfect for me and the price was very reasonable.
The Britomart Country Club isn't perfect but the food I ate certainly was.
There were a group of young women dressed as if going for the races who must have had high tea. There was a DJ, guys with dreads playing petanque. It has an eclectic group of diners/drinkers which I enjoyed. I'm not sure they have their niche worked out yet since they offer a whole lot of different things like pizzas, high tea and bar sized meals (which are truly restaurant quality) in the restaurant area. Although a kind of confusing place, I really loved it. Very different. Plus, service a little casual but very very friendly. Casual can be nice - you don't feel rushed. Thanks for the experience.

I had lunch here with my friend a while back, and we had a lovely experience. The place is gorgeous, with a nice, outdoorsy, country atmosphere. The food was nice too, as well as the juices we ordered (they have some very exotic flavours!) I would be happy to recommend this place and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Ate here tonight with two friends and liked it a great deal.
Monday nights you can get $10 mains but I would happily pay full price as the food was lovely. The venison, cranberry and haloumi pizza was my favourite. The squid was nice and tender with a delicious sweet lemony dipping sauce.
The dessert list was restricted to only three items, one being ice cream, but the pecan pie with butterscotch sauce was pretty good.
The service was good, with a friendly waiter who seemed relaxed but didn't leave us waiting for him. He was even a bit keen to ask us for orders while we were still busily chatting away.
Nice ambience with the citronella candles and fake grass for an outdoorsy feel.

After a lunchtime visit with work colleagues, we have to mark this as a 'could do better'.
- The pizzas were fine - in fact very good.
- The service was appalling - slow, and half the things delivered were wrong
- The entertainment was great - especially the dropping of a full tray of glasses (ioncluding red wine) over the head of one of the customers. This was followed later on by a full tray of pizzas on plates.
