Reviews for The Roundabout Bar
Roundabout bar is named aptly. It's right next to the not so popular Royal Oak roundabout. Contrary to The Zookeepers son which is few hundred metres away this is more like a typical local pub that has live sports screening with some pokies.
Now, there's no lunch menu. But the staff didn't offer me bar snacks either. I had to specifically ask for it.
There's an interesting dinner menu so will come back to try that.
So we ordered beer battered fries and sat n pepper squid. I would say both were good, but not quantity wise.
They do have $6 beers on tap during happy hours.

3 of us came here on Thursday nigh at 6pm and were surprised at how quiet the place was compared to the other pub on the next block. This place is clean and tidy, the staff are really friendly and the menu has a good selection of food at reasonable prices. We were using two voucher deals combined (unfortunately the 4th person didn't turn up) and 2 platters arrived first. There was heaps of food on each one -chicken goujons, money bags, mini hot dogs, spring rolls and samosas and fries. One platter would have been enough for 4 people if you were having a main afterwards. We gave the guys at the next table one of the platters to enjoy. All our mains were well cooked and very tasty (the chicken sashlick has a real kick to it -makes your lips tingle but so delicious) and because the voucher was for 4 mains, an extra main was cooked for us and taken home in a doggy bag ! We would all return for dinner again.

They used to have buy one main and get another free on Tuesdays. However, not sure if it's still around.
Their food is not good and poorly prepared, tastes like something you can make at home from leftovers from the freezer.
Not my kind of food, and not somewhere I would take a date.
The food also takes forever to arrive.
Wait time: 2/5
Food Quality: 2/5
Food Quantity: 2/5

Went there for a drink and had some snacks recently. The owner was there and was so friendly, really nice. We had salt and pepper squid, it was the best I had tried for a long time. This is a nice neighbourhood casual place. We have been back on a couple of Friday night and they have free bar snacks not your usual nuts and rubbish but decent platters of food on the bar. I think this might be our local from now on.

We bought a deal voucher to this bar/restaurant because it was close to home, however after reading all the bad reviews we were sceptical...BUT...we had a great night!! The food was good - its a pub, so they do pub food and they do it well. But the best part was the staff (in particular Aiden) who went out of his way to be hospitable, humorous, professional and looked after us extremely well. We will definitely go back again...its not a flash place, but it was clean, tidy and welcoming. Great if you need a quick, cheap meal or want to watch sport on their big screens.

Unbelievably bad with a nasty bitter owner berating people for not buying drinks. Never again. Go there at your peril. Paid $60 to get insulted and abused in a drunk Irish accent. Not the most hospitable host (joke- the worst). No wonder it was pretty empty on the crusaders reds night when all else was full. This is not exaggerated at all.
I agree with the mr b. I couldn't be bothered writing about the free shooter to those with a drink as I have already posted on other sites trying to warn people. It was so bad it was funny. Well not quite.

Have gone there every weekend for last 3 years to watch The Warriors matches and the occasional rugby match, usually drinking at least 2 pints and a meal, The New English owner tonight (Super 15 final) had the nerve to yell at patrons for not drinking enough and served everyone who had a drink a shot. As I had just finished my 2nd glass, and it was empty I apparently didn't qualify and was told I was a free loader and should feel embarrassed for being there. After being a loyal patron for over 3 years and spending $60 over the last 2 nights I felt incredibly angry and insulted. I shall be taking my $100 a month patronage somewhere else and recommend others do the same.

Decided to go to celebrate but due to an arrogant owner he refused to accept our Groupy voucher as I had not rung up and booked, unbelievable as we were the ONLY diners in the place. A sad looking place with a sad owner. Unfriendly staff, arrogant owner.
