This is fine dining at its BEST! Excellent food, by a very talented chef! Atmosphere and surroundings were beautiful, really enjoyed the live Pianist jamming his keys! Service was A+ Highly recommended ! Thank you for an enjoyable night! very impressed

Went to Thyme last night after reading some good reviews online. I’m always nervous trying a new restaurant but turned out to be a great choice – every part of the evening was perfect. The waitress was friendly and efficient without being too fussy, and the food was delicious. We were also given a free bottle of bubbles as we had a table of six and were dining on my birthday. Very surprised we were the only people dining!

Undoubtedly one of the nicest restaurants for lunch around. Pure class with attention to detail by the staff a refreshing change. Food quality was excellent for both of us. Had all 3 courses because menu was so nice. Looking forward to a return visit.

Invited my friends for lunch at Thyme restaurant at Spencer on Byron in Takapuna yesterday. The atmosphere was excellent. We ordered two grilled steak mains, one was cooked perfectly and the other was with large area of burnt and hardened surface with horrible burning smell. When we raised our concern to the staff, one of them was arrogant, sarcastic and offensive. His unprofessional service really spoiled our dining mood and tarnished the reputation of the restaurant.

Used a special offer for lunch this week and went with wife and 3 yr old. The main course took an age to appear and think they had a bit of a problem in the kitchen. However the food was excellent, service of waiting staff exemplary and the ambiance and atmosphere delightful. The $10.50 kids menu was great – fish and chips perfect and the ice cream sundae super. Perfect for older kids than ours. Adult meals very good, well presented with some lovely sauces. The lemon pudding was probably best sweet tasted in NZ in 6 years. Small gripe: Wife’s bread and butter pudding really needs IMO some raisins and sultanas rather than this perhaps more French version. (They discounted the bill for us due to the delay which was neither requested nor expected but was a very good gesture)- We will definitely be returning. A bientot. Would give 4.5 out of 5 but they do not seem to do 1/2′s so decided to give 5 stars.

Took friends to dine here last night – my second time. Just as impressive as first. They all loved it. Everything is excellent about this restaurant. The quiet, elegant surroundings, food and presentation with WOW factor, impeccable service, harpist playing soft music in background. Best restaurant on the Shore. Will be coming here again.

We recently dined at Thyme restaurant at Spencer on Byron in Takapuna, for my 40th birthday.
From when we arrived to the service, and the meal to the birthday cake and bottle of bubbly that was supplied to us, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Our guests that had come also commented on the food and the surroundings.
We will definitely be bringing out of town ( and country) guests here to enjoy the experience that is the Thyme restaurant.
