We visited for my son’s birthday with 3 year old grandson. The staff were very obliging with our needs and made us feel very welcome. Special attention to grandson with activities and provision of little extras to keep him occupied.
The food and service were great making for a very pleasant evening

Didn’t have any problem with reservation even though I booked from Australia. Service was very good and food well presented and very fresh. Would highly recommend it.

Went there early July with group of about 10 people, wasn’t particularly busy as there was only one other table, although it might have been the poo weather, it did however take quite a while to get our meals out and I remember last order came out when most of us were practically finished. I order pilau (Sp?) which was kind average but given reasonable price I don’t have any complaints about this. My drink though was questionable, I ordered a hot chocolate, or as they called it a white hot chocolate, which is basically just microwaved milk with dusting of hot chocolate or milo, some of my work mates also ordered the same drink and we were just staring @ each other with a WTF!?! face….. at least now I can say I know how to make white hot chocolate.

Celebrated a friend’s birthday here on a Thursday evening. The service was gr8 – prompt, polite and helpful. The ambience is nice too. Love eggplant so ordered the glevech (diced lamb dish apparently served with eggplant) but there was no eggplant served – that was disappointing. But overall enjoyed the evening and the food.

We requested the waitress to leave out chilli and confirmed it with her twice, but there ended up being chilli on our food. When we reminded the waitress of our request the response was “are you allergic?” and implied we should just eat it unless we absolutely couldn’t. Poor service.

It was nice, the bread was really nice!A bit crammed though inside,4 of us were sitting so closed to each other. Food is nice and service is good.Just a bit cold when you are on the window seat.

I work in Newmarket and the Turkish Cafe is one of my regular places to grab lunch. The lunch menu is very well priced, only $12 for most things.
The service is great and food is fast to come out.
Food is flavourful and filling. The pizza’s are amazing, so many toppings on a great crispy base!

not very authentic. Hate the bottled mint sauce stuff

Been to The Turkish Cafe a few times, and have always been impressed with the food. The most authentic Middle Eastern fare I’ve enjoyed here in Auckland. However the service shows some room for improvement. For a more detailed review, please visit: http://maneatingpasta….

We had the most wonderful meal here! excellent service, knowledgeable staff, and the yummiest food- i totally recommend the Bosses platter- massive amount for 4 four people, everything perfectly cooked- lamb dropping off the bones, great night had, and will be re booking whenever we want a relaxing, enjoyable night! Manager looked after us beautifully…see you soon!

A friend and I called in for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised at the speed and the deliciousness of the generous servings for entree’s we recieved. Service was on the ball, no complaints from us. Recommended.

I went there for dinner yesterday with a group of friends. The food is quite good but have to say the service was bad. We weren’t happy at all with them.I am hoping they will improve their CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!

wowsa – we had an excellent lunch here today – the woman recommended some kind of lamb dish where the lamb had been stewed for a day to prepare it, Glevech? or something. This was the taste bomb!!! my wife had the doner kebab and loved it but tried my lamb and was a little jealous i think. The place has a nice ambience, turkish/nz feel, pretty cool open oven and the staff were great and gave us tips on the local area and stuff. One of the toilets was broken, but there was an alternative and i think the service definitely made up for it, so i give top marks.

love the Turkish Cafe for its great variety of delicious Mediterranean food on offer, with many healthy options as well as vegetarian choices. i go there regularly after a work out at the pools across the road. sometimes just for a coffee and other times i enjoy the whole nine yards…entree, main and desert if i can fit it as the portions are a pretty good size.
i enjoy the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff, always a smile and checking if everything is o.k….
definitely recommend it, they also have a covered outdoor area and you even get a 2 hr free car park with your receipt right next to it which is extremely helpful in busy Newmarket.

We simply wanted to have a decent good meal, and a nice time. I made a complaint to one of their staff When i found a ‘hair’ on one of the dish which we havent even digged in. we were offered either discount or the same meal. However, i was greatly appauled by their service as The manager had ABSOLUTELY no manner at all .Neither herself or the staff apologised, taking so long to prepare the new dish which werent even the same thing. When i made a complaint how she didnt apologised, she simply rolled her eyes and moved her head side to side saying “sorry” (not genuine at all) which made me upset even more! then she was blaming us saying she didnt even see the hair and we ate the whole meal before complaining . I was disgusted by the way she spoke to us back, saying she’s busy and dont have time to argue with us, she offered a new meal n cant do much abt it. I told her sincere apology “sorry” would have made everyone happy! (and i wouldnt hv made it a big deal ,since its possible to hv a hair in the meal .it happens right?)
I can understand tat her staff werent trained well enuf to apologise at the first instance but its the manager’s job to train the staff and resolve any conflic and satisfy the customer. After all, we are paying for the service and a good meal. I was so shocked and left speechless at her terrible attitude thru out the whole arguement and asked her boss’s number. then she simply stormed out and ‘rang’ her boss (we can tell by looking at her, she was busy defending herself) and the boss offered a free meal. I wanted to personally compalin abt her but What can u expect from tat lousy manager? she obviously disrespects custmer’s right in everyway.
The meal was great, but just really terrible customer service.

absolutly excellent food and service. french toast didnt take long to order and was the best ive had, the manager even came out to make sure everything was alright, will definatly be going back

We were served immediately, received our food after a short wait and everything was perfect. We paid the same price we would at any other place and expected a microscopic bit of food on a giant platter. Instead we got huge platters piled with food, which was a pleasant surprise. Wonderful staff and very accommodating everytime we’ve been there – are now faithful regulars!
