Wow! What a find this place is!! Check it out guys; you won’t be disappointed. Friendly professional service. An uncluttered menu with some very different flavours. eg There’s only 4 choices on the entrees..took me about 20mins to decide upon which one, such was the appeal of them all. Settled on the scallops..yummy yummy. Had the duck as a main..cooked to perfection..flesh just fell off the bone. And who would have thought to have rhubarb with poultry. Struggled with the choice of dessert; finally, with a little nudge from Anthony (our waiter) had the ‘sticky date pudding’. Yeah yeah, it’s been around for ages, I know. But, not the ways these guys do it. Just go there..it’s an absolute gem.
PS. Best & cleanest toilets I’ve ever come across in a restaurant.

Had a wonderful evening in the private dining room as part of a group of 16.
Delicious food and attentive staff made for a very plesant night out. We had one of the set menus and every dish was lovely, all meals were served together and a perfect amount of time between courses.
Thank you for a great evening!
Would recommend.

This place is a hidden gem. The food was incredible, definitely recommend the risotto and the cured meats. The waiter was wonderful. Since it was my friends birthday, they gave her a lovely little chocolate. We couldn’t have been more happy with our evening there.

My Husband & I took my sisters here last week when we bought a voucher for a three course meal. The food was wonderful. Everything was delicious, even my Sister agreed & she is VERY hard to please. The service was also great & the owner was very accomodating as we booked before the special was in place but he let us go anyway. I am a small eater & have never ordered 3 courses but I ate everything (well I did take a bit of my John Dory & risotto home as it was too good to waste) Thank you for a wonderful meal, we will certainly be back.

Me and my partner had a 3 course meal which was fantastic.So fresh and full of flavour and the waiter (who was very friendly and welcoming with good banter) was a pleasure to be served by.

I went well out of my food comfort zone and tried rabbit and veal as an entree – delish!

I also had the market day fish with prawn risotto for my main – perfectly cooked and full of flavour.

To finish off I had the sticky date pudding, amazing, but a bit too much as I was so full from the previous dishes.

Definately a great place to dine. Highly recommended.

We had wanted to try two fifteen for ages. Finally got a chance to go for our first wedding anniversary. Booking was easy on line with a quick confirmation by email. It was quiet when we arrived and we were seated quickly by a very pleasant waiter. We had a hard time choosing because everything sounded great. Started with scallops and charcuterie for my hubby. Beautiful. Prompt service but not intrusive. The mains were perfect and the fillet steak was cooked as requested. A lovely experience. The only tiny grizzle was where we were seated smelled damp under the heat pump. We will go back and highly recommend two fifteen.

We got a three course deal voucher for two (breads, entree, main, dessert!) and went here for the first time last night. It was FANTASTIC. One of the nicest meals I’ve had out for a long time. The food was superb, and the only trouble I had was what to choose! So will definitely be going back to try a few other things off the menu! The staff were great and helpful and the dining room lovely. On Tuesday and Wednesday nights they have a special deal – do check it out.

We’ve dined at Two Fifteen a number of times now and always had a great time with wonderful food. This review though is for our staff Christmas Party which we held at Two Fifteen last weekend.

It was a fantastic night. Having the 2 private rooms upstairs is wonderful since you can have drinks and time to mingle in one room before moving through to the dining room where a beautiful large table is set up.

We had our own waitress who was looking after us and she did a great job (Thanks Hannah). She kept on top of drinks for everyone beforehand and throughout the meal.

The food was great and everyone loved it. The table doesn’t feel cramped and there is plenty of room to move around. The main thing was that they made everyone feel very special and there was no rush – I was surprised when we came downstairs to pay that the restaurant was all closed up and I realized how late it was – but for them it wasn’t a problem and there was no pressure to leave.

We had been to Two Fifteen” for a mid-winter Christmas staff function a couple of years back and even though we like to go to something different each year, the majority request was to go to “Two Fifteen” again as it was so good the last time. And, once again they proved us correct! We booked very last minute – but that was no problem – relief! We liaised through email and we were kept informed at all times of menus and arrangements. The service from the moment we arrived and throughout the evening was excellent and the meals were delicious. We have several staff with special dietary requirements – but this was no problem. We highly recommend “Two fifteen” and thank the owners and staff for a very successful and enjoyable evening. We will be back!

Seasonal offering of a turkey filet with bacon and roast kumara is delicious. Lemon brulee was also a hit with us, as were the Criollo chocolates. Fantastic staff, and a lovely dining room.

We had been regular visitors to 215 Bistro when Jeremy had the restaurant but had not been for a while. On receiving notification of a Tuesday night ‘special’ of $65 for two courses we decided to go back. Outside was the special board – good so far. We were given a menu, we chose our two courses but what happened when we went to pay??? We were charged full price! On questioning the manager we were told we had not asked for the special menu. Surely we should have been offered it in the first place or the special pricing should have been explained?? Secondly, we asked for a bottle of wine but they only had 2/3 of it left. That’s OK, we thought, the manager offered it at a discounted price. Silly me, I should have asked what we were going to be charged for it! The cost did not mirror the amount of wine remaining in the bottle. The food was generally good ( the same chef so that’s good) and not too different, but the French fries are no longer hand cut, they used to be the best fries ever! We were happy with the food, the manager was friendly but the lack of communication left us with a feeling of being ripped off.

Our first visit to this restaurant. We pass by every day enroute to our Mt Eden climb.
AWESOME food and service! The lamb shanks were “melt in the mouth.” My husband wants to visit regularly!!
Staff went the extra mile to make our son’s partner’s 30th very special!!
We will be back!!
PS You can purchase their hand made sausages etc as take away. Love the duck especially.

It was a great experience to visit Two Fifteen Bistro this weekend!!! The flesh fried squid was delicious, I could have eaten dozen of those!!! The service was very good too, polite and professional!

I wouldn’t normally leave a review but was quite disappointed after wanting to find the time to come in here for ages and really looking forward to it. Entrees were great, snapper was AMAZING, the duck however was pretty average and not something I’d order again.

Our waiter seemed friendly enough but the only other person working seemed to be more interested in chatting on the phone and to a guy who had come in for a beer than in actually doing anything and so with only 1 waitperson working in the whole restaurant the service to our table suffered. They also overcharged us on our bill (which we pointed out and they corrected) which was a shame.

Not the most intimate location. What lacks in location make up for in food and service.

Was there for dinner. Great quality food and great value for money. Attentive and courteous staff. Very unpretentious. Ticks all the boxes.

Well worth the visit.

Good food, ambiguous wine list. Don’t get caught out like we did by the 500ml price. They need to sort that out, not only for the patrons but for frontline staff too. We won’t be back as the wine was more expensive than the food, took the gloss right off!

Love this restaurant! We recently moved to Mt Eden from Parnell and were thrilled to find this fantastic bistro within walking distance. The smoked butter is to die for, as is the duck and pretty much everything else on the menu.

I thought that it was a BYO and told all my group that it was.
I think that the guy who looked after our table was Jaque. He was brilliant.

Jeremy and his team produce consistently good food. I’ve become a regular at twofifteen and there’s only once where I found the creme brulee a little ‘gritty’ in texture.

The flash-fried squid is lovely, and of course, the snapper with risotto isn’t a local favourite without reason. Pork belly? Divine.

I see others have noted noise problems. This isn’t something I’ve ever noticed, nor my guests. I’ve brought many people to twofifteen and all have really enjoyed their dining experience.

In fact, one guest was so conflicted over which dessert to choose, she ordered the lot! Five desserts between two of us was a struggle. Pannacotta and creme brulee are, for me, the best of the great offerings.

And Jeremy, you’re a star!

Excellent food – staff attentive but not overbearing, pleasant atmosphere, quiet background music appreciated, so one can hear conversation across the table.
Big plus having door opened on entering and leaving.

The service was good non pretentious and real. The food was excellent. Very tasty and beautifully presented. Portion sizes were very generous and I was happily stuffed leaving about 1/3 the two side lovely dishes to go back. The quality of the food was top notch. I would thoroughly recommend 215 as an excellent place to go for a great memorable meal. I think for the quality of service and the fantastic food you are getting that the price also represents very good value. We each had three courses and two glasses of great wine for $91 per head.
Our second time there and we’ll definitely be back.

Wow! took my mother here last night for her birthday dinner as a friend had recommended on the basis it was her favourite restaurant in Auckland. I have to say it is now MY favourite restaurant in Auckland. From the moment we walked in our waitress was amazing, she was attentive and friendly and very knowledgeable. The food was DELICIOUS! Not too pricey either – worth every cent. The atmosphere was just right – not too quiet and not too noisy! I will definitely be back – thank you Two Fifteen!

We have dined at Two Fifteen on numerous occasions and have never failed to be impressed. The food is sublime especially the squid entree and seafood risotto- yum! The service is attentive without being overbearing. I love how the chef Jeremy comes out to see people at the end of the night- nice touch! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quality meal at a reasonable price.

I went last night in a group of 7 friends. Really enjoyed this place – the service was great. We rang 10 mins before the booking to push it back an hour and they were happy to do this (but on a Wed night I’m not surprised).

Service was polished and in the background, as not to interfere with a group of 7 people talking. Most didnt eat entrees as we wanted desserts. Wine was lovely, we were drinking Otago pinot noir. Small but good wine list.

The mains were fantastic and quite large. I had the pork belly which was delicious and tender – I couldnt finish mine and even though I shouldnt have I still ate dessert. Pannacotta was lovely.

The only gripe is that the atmosphere for me personally is a little boring, I think it needs a bit more ‘spark’ – perhaps a more casual feel? I’ve read that its also quite noisy but as a group of 7 I suspect we were making the noise….

Overall very good and would certainly recommend.

Let’s start on a good note: great welcome, attentive staff and pretty good food. I say “pretty good” because my wife’s food tasted excellent but my veal was a little exercise for the jaw muscles.
We very rarely eat out (but should do this more often!) but wedding anniversaries are special occasions and you should do something different on days like this.
My wife had been constantly leaving out reveiws of this place for me to find, so I took the hint like a good husband…
The noise that we had been warned about made itself evident as the night wore on (bare boards plus noisy chairs plus alcohol = Noise)
This wasn’t too bad but I can tell you a lot about the diner next door (job, relationships,etc.) as we were separated by just a bookshelf and I’m not given to eaves-dropping.
The major “peeve” was paying the bill ($116 odd) to find that inflation had struck (even 1923 Weimar Germany would be hard put to top this…) and it had become $166 odd!
When this was commented on, the comment was “I’ve never done this before”. A major discussion then ensued about the process for a refund. Minimal apology.
I’m pretty tolerant so I’ll accept this but urge you all to check your accounts and take your ear-muffs if you dislike noise.
Again let’s say some excellent service and good food.

We went in a group for a birthday and had a superb meal.
Couldn’t fault the food. The restaurant lacked a little in atmosphere, probably due to being only a third full. Service was very good until a change in waiter after the main course. The second maitre’d was somewhat condescending & stiffer than the previous one. We would have taken half a star off for this if MenuMania did fractions.

I wish MenuMania had a half star option because I would give this restaurant 4.5 stars….. Five of us dined for my husbands birthday. The service was great and the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. The entrees and mains were all excellent, too many to list but, I had the squid for my entree and the confit of duck leg for my main. They managed to do these gluten free and seemed to have a good many options I could choose from (although it was not a large menu). The meals were reasonable size portions. The desserts while nice were nothing exciting so I wouldnt bother with dessert if I went back. We were seated under some sort of Air Con? unit which caused a draft on our necks all night and I noticed many diners kept their coats on so a little more attention to the temperature wouldnt go a miss (it was a very cold night). Also, No BYO otherwise I would be tempted to give this 5 stars for the entrees and mains and service.

Last night was our 20th wedding anniversary and we wanted everything to be ‘just right’ We took out a group of 20 of our closest friends. We had a number of contacts with the restaurant in organising the occasion, and we really felt we had picked the right place. They have two large upstairs rooms, where we started with cocktails, then we moved to the other room which was set up for the meal. We could not fault the service or the attitude of the staff. The food came out hot,(something that Cin Cin on Quay could learn from) and we all got our mains within five minutes of each other. Whether it was the duck, fish or steak it was all done perfectly. The desserts were no different. It really was food to die for. If it was possible I would give this restaurant a 10 star rating.

my husband and i have been here twice for dinner once for valentines then for our wedding anniversary and we both absolutely love it food was outstanding and the service was exceptional..as i am also in hospo i fully recommend 215 as one of the best dinning places in Auckland…well done guys

Two Fifteen Bistro is a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood.
The food is delicious and obviously lovingly prepared. I had the confit duck leg and it was a treat. My friend had the snapper, which was melt in your mouth and full of subtle flavours.
The service was excellent, a lovely mix of friendly, attentive and professional.
A perfect night out!
Using free range meats and local produce as the norm is fantastic.

Took a couple of Wellingtonian foodie friends to Two Fifteen last night and got blown away by the quality and ambience.

Excellent food, excellent service would be the watchwords.

Starters were excellent – the squid sublime, the sausage succulent and scallops scintillating. Our vegetarisn had the colourful beetroot salad, which was much more complicated than the other simple preparations and showed it.

Mains were equally good, flawless execution of classic dishes such as lamb rump and pork belly, and the greek cheese ravioli was pronounced “best ever” by the veggie.

Desserts world class too – melt in the mouth panna cotta, good fritoles which were made great by the citrus curd accompaniment, and the chef’s new chocolate dish (coming soon to the menu – get it!).

If we had one gripe about the evening it’s that two of the three veggie options were heavy on carbohydrates (ravioli / risotto).

Wine list – excellent too.

Service – top notch, neighbourhood friendly, fun, knowledgeable and just right. I’m not a tipper normally but felt compelled to change my habit last night!

Thanks Jeremy and all staff – we’ll be back.

Had our wedding anniversary dinner here with 10 family and friends. Was a very special evening and we were a bit worried that with a large number food would be served while others waited for there to arrive. This didnt happen and everything was just lovely. Food was beautiful and the wait staff a pleasure. Thankyou for giving us a wonderful night.

We have been to Two-Fifteen on a number of occasions and even chose to have our wedding dinner there. Each time the food was delicious and the service was exceptional. At our reception we had 42 guests, all of whom loved the food and commented on the attentive nature of the staff. Indeed, we have never experienced better service than at Two-Fifteen.
We also love that free-range chicken, eggs and pork are used. A restaurant with great food, great service and a conscience. Thank you and well done!

We went for a wedding reception. Food and service was perfect. Crew is constantly willing to please and are friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to any body who likes good food. I had the eye fillet which would have to be in my top three meals ever.

Have eaten here several times, and unreservedly recommend it. Desperately hard to go past the salt and pepper squid, and the fish of the day (the herb risotto is to die for), but well worth exploring the rest of the menu.
The service is the perfect blend of friendly but professional.
Just go – you won’t regret it.

Four old old friends met here for a special occasion. We were treated superbly well from the moment we entered to the moment we left. The waitress was extremely helpful but not in your face every minute. The wine waiter was great and coped well with four middle aged (or are we old now) women who can no longer maintain their cool dignity after one, let alone two glasses of wine. Despite our flamboyant and noisy exuberance he remained polite and friendly and added to our evening’s entertainment with his good humour.

We chose four different dishes which were all voted as yummy and extremely good value. The desserts were as good as we hoped and again very reasonably priced.
It was fun chatting to Chef Jeremy at the end of the meal. As someone has said a good restaurant is one you would return to and we will all be back, soon we hope, to two fifteen.

We had our staff Christmas party at this restaurant. We loved the food the Executive Chef Jeremy Schmid and his team prepared for us. The food was superb, great choice on the menu and well put together. The service was also fantastic, attentive without being in your face. This restaurant is also exceptional value for money.

Recently ate at Two Fifteen, which turned out to be a great local Bistro serving food and wine at affordable prices together with service that was well beyond what one might expect at a local bistro.

Regarding the experience I had the home made sausage which I have to say is worth a return visit any time. My wife a vegetarian was well looked after.

The ultimate answer to any restaurant visit is “Would I go back” Answer – We are going again next week!

I am quite a tolerant restaurant goer, having worked in the trade a few years back whilst going thru college. But have had a few meals here now. The staff were great as was the decor etc. Pretty disappointed with the food though. The food was boring and amateurish.

Service was flawless, food divine. The highlight for me was the combination of stunning melt-in-your-mouth “Rosemary, cardamom & apricot spiced lamb shank” paired beautifully with my Torlesse Gewürztraminer, as recommended by our very warm and helpful waiter. He offered a tasting of two recommendations before I committed, which was a great touch.
My partner and I left feeling relaxed, replete and really rather pampered after our wonderful 3 course meal. The sticky date pudding also a highlight for me.
This is an essential dining experience for anyone in Auckland!
